Hello,

Well today i picked up my 06 WRX TR. I'll post pics as soon as i can find my camera. But I need some help. Dose any one here now how to disable the day time running lights?? I want to install my HID :D kit but i think i'll run into some problems since the DTRL *day time running lights* are set on the low beams and not on the highs. If some one can help me out on this that'll be great.

Thanks.

Read the HID FAQ. The module is behind the glovebox and needs to be unplugged.

I also have an 06, STI though. I am very interested in hearing how your motor mounts hold up. Mine were broken the first week. They have been replaced and are broke again. The dealer is saying it's abuse, which it has not been. From my understanding they have new liquid filled mounts which are not holding up. Please let me know if you are having the same problems. Thanks

congrats on the new tr. What color?

ive had my tr for almost 3 weeks with no problems. I haven't driven it hard, except for bad shifts and some violent stalls the first day or two. If your engine mounts break again lemon law it or something.

Hmmm. Not a good trend. Will keep in contact with our service department and see if we are getting any returns for the same thing!

Suggestion: don't do too much fiddling around with a brand new car. You'll void your entire warranty before you know it :).

I think the 06 headlights work GREAT considering theyre not HID.

've had the 2.5i for about a week, it is truely an awesome car for the $$$. i had it out in the wet icy roads mountain roads and the car stuck to the road like a fly on *****. only complaint so far is that while out on the highway, some strong crosswinds made a howl on the passenger side. i rolled the windows up and down, but no fix. i think its the design of the car or something. anyone else have this problem?

I'm getting organized to buy an '06 WRX too. Ltd Wagon. I'll be buying somewhere in the NorthWest and importing into Alberta, Canada where I live. Can't get leather interior in Canada, and prices are better in USA.

There is a bit of a process involved in getting it across the border (www.riv.ca) Apparently Canada Customs needs to see a sticker (Statement of Compliance label) on the vehicle that verifies that it meets all US Federal safety standards. Supposedly it is on the edge of the drivers door, low down.

Can one of you new proud '06 WRX owners check if there is such a sticker?

thanks!

Mine just has air-bag warning labels.

Was that sticker on the pillar between the front and rear doors? I've heard that the Legacy has a sticker on the edge of the driver's door itself, quite low down. Supposedly it states something to the effect "This vehicle meets all US Safety Standards"

I just wanted to confirm that there is a similiar sticker on the '06 WRX. did you look in both places on your car?

thanks

My fault it was dark this morning. Yes there is a metal plate that says it meets all safety, bumber and theft requirements for US. Its on the bottom of the pilar between the two doors.

I heard this on mine too. I believe that it's wind blowing past the outside mirror. Kind of like blowing across a pop bottle. :)
