View Full Version : Help me find a shed to house a Scooter.
Amazake 01-07-2006, 09:33 AM I am looking for a non-permenent shed that can house a Honda Ruckus scooter. The Ruckus is 72" long ( 6ft ) and 37" ( 3ft 1 inch ) mirror tip to mirror tip. Do any of you have either a metal shed or a plastic shed that you would reccomend?
rexfan555 01-07-2006, 09:39 AM Ever consider a tarp? A shed seems like overkill for a scooter.

hahaha... I was just gonna post that, too!
Amazake 01-07-2006, 09:56 AM Why do you say that? I live in New England and housing it for the winter in a shed is definately cheaper than renting a storage container.
Porter 01-07-2006, 10:07 AM There are some really cool pop-up temporary vehicle shelters on the market right now. There are some motorcycle-specific ones that are really nice and not too expensive.
I forget the brand. I'll look it up when I get to work on Monday and post in this thread.
Amazake 01-07-2006, 10:17 AM thanks Porter.
A small storage container to house the scooter from November to March will be $42.00 a month. That could be $200 towards a shelter for the scooter per year.
iguanamafia 01-07-2006, 10:44 AM why don't you build a shed?
probably cost you a couple hundred bucks and you can buy the book at home depot that'll walk you through it if you aren't wood savvy.
Amazake 01-07-2006, 10:47 AM Something something building permit.

Little pricey, but cheaper than a shed, and it isn't permanent. Perfect if you have an apartment.

Davenow 01-07-2006, 11:01 AM You could try storing it where you used to keep your manhood :p
Amazake 01-07-2006, 11:07 AM I left my manhood in your wife, I will be visiting Austin, TX soon to take it out.

Amazake 01-07-2006, 11:43 AM I like the bikebarn. I like the semi-permenant aspect of it.

4x4GGG 01-07-2006, 01:24 PM 1. You suck. I want a Ruckus so bad but since I own a working scooter I can't justify it yet
2. It's a Ruckus. New England winter can be sheer fun on that thing.

4. It's OK to let them get wet.

quentinberg007 01-07-2006, 01:30 PM Luckily, my g/f has a shed on the house she rents. My ruckus is now in winter storage over at her house right now. I generally keep it under a tarp in front of my house.
Oddly enough, the Ruckus has become quite the problem for renting a place next year. Most apartment buildings don't have storage sheds. :(

WRXplatinum 01-07-2006, 01:41 PM Ruckus...Why?
A 96 kawasaki ZX6R would be so much more fun.

Because a ZX6R requires a motorcycle drivers license and doesn't get 80mpg. Instead of getting something that impresses all the laydeez, I got a practical commuter... which is what I needed. ;)

Are you on Ruckus Central?

Are you on Ruckus Central?
I'm on totalruckus.com every once and a while. There's very little traffic there though. I'll check out ruckus central.

where are you in new england?
try www.lavalleys.com, they sell pre-built and delivered sheds of all sizes.
Amazake 01-07-2006, 02:17 PM I am in North Shore Massachusetts. I will check what they have to offer.
thanks
Cosworth 01-07-2006, 02:55 PM thanks Porter.

Why do you keep arguing as if someone is trying to sell you on renting a storage container when no one every mentioned it? Tarp != container.

thanks
I just checked, and they have great sheds, but nothing that you'd be able to put up/take down with the seasons. But if you have a lawn tractor etc and need some more space...they're perfect.
(I have a little bias towards LaValley's, as I worked there for 7 years from when I was 14 until I was 21 during the summers, and my dad's a manager at one.) No I can't get you a discount.
Amazake 01-07-2006, 03:17 PM tarp does not equal a container
Porter 01-09-2006, 09:36 PM The company that makes the all-weather pop-up shelters is called Shelter Logic.
http://www.shelterlogic.com
They have some cool ones.
