ANybody interested in a JDM forester EJ25 short block? same as usdm STi motor, it has about 4000 miles on it, and was broken in with non-synthetic for the first 1000 miles and ran on wastegate pressure(8 psi) with a TXS road tune. Right after break in it was tuned by TurboXS to 404whp and then turned down to 370whp for use on the street, it has about 2-3 thousand miles since then and has no issues what so ever. runs VERY VERY strong. I want 550whp on pump gas, so this motor no longer meets my goals. I am thinking $1500 for a local pickup on it. let me know if anyone is interested, PM or respond here.

I thought you could get Legacy Turbo/STI/Forester XT 2.5 Short Blocks from the dealer brand new for $1500?

I think brand new shortlblocks from the dealer are running up around 1600 - 1700. There's no difference between the JDM and US ej257 shortblocks that would justify charging a higher price however.

isnt 1500 lower than 1600-1700? the motor has about 4000 miles on it, so i dropped a couple hundred bucks. and 2400 head to head for the longblock isnt bad. i paid 3100 new.

It is, and I think your long block price is a fantastic deal.

This kind of thing, just makes me want to spin a rod bearing so I can get that 2.5 I've always wanted.
