I have mine in a box right now and I really want to put it in tomorrow Actually, I thought that would be a really cool mod, where'd you pick up the STi gauge cluster? vwown3d 01-17-2006, 12:13 AM what year cluster. if u bought an 05 ur in for a treat of stuff not working. if its an 04 ur good to go! i have an sti cluster in my rs WReX4 01-17-2006, 12:35 AM yah its an 04' american but whatever i can read the small print haha. so an 04' in and 04' wrx. you think its good just just plug and play or what? subydaddy 01-17-2006, 12:55 AM http://storage.msn.com/x1p3w2TuirBkONMVdPkQA6xy8L2W1B6kpEvtJdii7EaW-YwJ8JPXRci4QvyugfFTwxPZiaVBpI6yBoenebYVxj0g23zpOnK eTKp Just got to clip one wire in the middle harness. i forget which one. i'll look and see if i still have the page bookmarked. other than that it works great. the dccd light stays on all the time and so does the rear diff temp. light. oh yeah and it looks like my out side temp sensor works..... but i don't have one adn it's never even close to the right temp. i don't know where it's getting it's signal from. but at least it looks like it works :D vwown3d 01-17-2006, 12:55 AM ya u should be good to go.! possibly the rear diff light will be on but im not sure wire it b28. b=middle harness WReX4 01-17-2006, 12:58 AM haha awesome! well i just dont want to plug it in and have it mess up . subaru say to bring it in. but they will prolly just plug it in and charge me outrageous money SiC Stoner 01-17-2006, 01:06 AM http://storage.msn.com/x1p3w2TuirBkONMVdPkQA6xy8L2W1B6kpEvtJdii7EaW-YwJ8JPXRci4QvyugfFTwxPZiaVBpI6yBoenebYVxj0g23zpOnK eTKp Just got to clip one wire in the middle harness. i forget which one. i'll look and see if i still have the page bookmarked. other than that it works great. the dccd light stays on all the time and so does the rear diff temp. light. oh yeah and it looks like my out side temp sensor works..... but i don't have one adn it's never even close to the right temp. i don't know where it's getting it's signal from. but at least it looks like it works :D i have heard doing this can mess up ur milage? did this happin to urs? WReX4 01-17-2006, 01:17 AM i have mine written down so who cares lol STi/AE86 01-17-2006, 01:43 AM Looks sweet. mcowger 01-17-2006, 02:10 AM i have heard doing this can mess up ur milage? did this happin to urs? 1) Installing a new cluster WILL change your odometer reading. THis has a lot of warrenty and legal implications. Be careful. 2) Is it REALLY so hard to spell your rather than 'ur'? mcowger 01-17-2006, 02:10 AM http://storage.msn.com/x1p3w2TuirBkONMVdPkQA6xy8L2W1B6kpEvtJdii7EaW-YwJ8JPXRci4QvyugfFTwxPZiaVBpI6yBoenebYVxj0g23zpOnK eTKp What wheel is that with the cool blue trim? SiC Stoner 01-17-2006, 02:24 AM 1) Installing a new cluster WILL change your odometer reading. THis has a lot of warrenty and legal implications. Be careful. 2) Is it REALLY so hard to spell your rather than 'ur'? that is the way i type, is it really that much harder to read and understand 'ur' rather than 'your'? and yes it is easyer to type ur rather than your as it takes two less keys to type, jeeze why did u make me have to type up this long ass response :furious:  SiC Stoner 01-17-2006, 02:26 AM What wheel is that with the cool blue trim? lmao that it looks like some cheap ass wheel cover sold at pep boys or somthing lol i thought it looked kinda ricey. i do like the blue though. but i seriosly love the leather wrapped momo as it is. its the only damn piece of leather in my car! i'm sorry but i seriosly would have prefered if the 05 wrx came with leather. u6t9 01-17-2006, 02:54 AM yeah, what kind of steering wheel is that? scoobdude 01-17-2006, 10:46 AM The sti cluster is fine. To turn those lights off you can also put electric tape behind the cluster. The bulbs are all LEDs and and the gauges use electroilluminescense <sp> which is the same thing the indigo watches use from my understanding. There is also a thread talking about the temp gauge which gives you the wires to turn off these lights and how to wire the temp gauge. Joe vwown3d 01-17-2006, 10:55 AM wiring the temp gauge is a pain! bo. |
