yeah im doing a swap and was wondering if anyone could tell me what kinds of problems i might have doing this, heres what i got....
04' STI complete engine with turbo and intercooler, 6-speed tranny, complete wiring harness with ECU, front axels, drive shaft, rear diff, engine mounts, and tranny mounts.
one of the things im concerned about is if the 01 RS clutch and lightweight flywheel will fit in the new 6-speed set up. im assuming i'll need new ones, can someone confirm this?
thanks

you need the 6 speed clutch setup. :)
did you get the rear hubs+brakes
the rear axels are differnt
other wise there is a place that will custom make r160/r180 axels

alright ive been reading similar threads and came up with a few more questions....
1. since im putting in an 04' do i need a new radiator?
2. i have the stock brake system so my DCCD won't work right? im not even sure if i got the g sensors or the actual controller switch ( is the controller switch just a switch the wiring hooks up to? can i subsitute with some other switch?)
3. i don't have the 04' rear hubs and rear axels, so is it possible to custom fit the stock 01' axels to the 04' diff? or with that not hold to well?
4. i now know i need a new clutch and flywheel, is there anything else i might need to make all this work?
thanks
chris
0 front rs axels will be fine
1 no you can use the rs radiator making the sti radiator fit is some work
2 correct look at the other dccd thread in conversions to lazy to link
3 you will need custom drive shafts i wanna say (drive shop sevice is the name of the companyi think) -ask this question the the tranny forum
4 as far as big things go .. no little things yup

imbaru25rs, i just got the exact same set up but i have the rear subframe w/ axles. Im missing the hubs as well. Are you installing this your self or a shop? good luck on ur swap. Im pretty sure the dccd will not work with out the complete harness into the tranny, and the matching abs unit. from what i have read you will be stuck in 35/65 with out the complete system.

yeah its going into a shop thats gonna make custom rear axels for me, i have the complete harness just not the ABS system, or the g-sensors. which im not gonna mind having 35/65 since i drive it in the summer only. and i will do suspension and brakes at a later date. the swap is gonna start tomarrow so thank you guys for all your help and ill let ya all know how it goes and post some pics if i can!

You should be able to use manual as long as you keep the DCCD controller and circuit intact for power, to transmission, and rotary knob. This should give you the ablility to go full open to full lock, just not have auto.
I'm doing this currently.
