View Full Version : Feel Free to Post Non-Subaru News
BigElm 01-17-2006, 05:44 PM Okay everyone.. you will have the ability to post free from threads as you normally would everywhere else.
But again, anything unrelated, abusive or irrelavant will be cleaned up. Any repetitive news will be deleted or merged.
I hope this stops the bleeding now! :D
I will eventually lock the others if no activity are in them.
BigElm 01-20-2006, 12:06 PM Alright.... being there is so much confusion with what to do in this forum and people NOT seeing that they can post freely. I will be locking the "Related" threads tonight.
I apologize to all those who have participated in the Related threads. Hopefully, this will enlighten the minds of those who still don't understand that they can create new threads as long as one doesn't exist about theirs.
Hope this makes everyone happy and puts an end to all confusion.
MattDell 01-20-2006, 12:21 PM Hope this makes everyone happy and puts an end to all confusion.
THANK YOU!!!!

Despite your not-so-subtle jab at me and those of like mind, thanks for finally fixing the forum.
I look forward to seeing it meet its true potential.
4or2wheels 01-20-2006, 05:15 PM Holy crap Elmer I go away for a week or two and now your a mod turning news and rumors on its head. Its a thankless job and I give you credit for being so involved.
My question is can I post about motorcycle stuff in this non-subaru thread? I had asked about a bike forum a few years ago but didnt get any feedback.
Congrats on your new nooberator status
BigElm 01-20-2006, 08:50 PM Thanks... ;)
Yes, I know there are some motorcycle fans and admirers here (it's somewhat automotive) :D
Shoot away!

Yes, as most posters here have shown, it is a thankless job. Keep up the good work Elm. Some here do appreciate what you're trying to do.

SUBE555 01-20-2006, 09:19 PM Okay, who in the heck is locking all the threads? And WHY!
BigElm 01-20-2006, 10:06 PM Thanks guys... :)
I've locked the threads so now everyone can look at a thread and if they're interested, they'll read it. Otherwise it will die away.
Just create a new thread on your automotive article. I'll see if this method, which so many protested, will work.
This is all a testing phase... :)
Achilles38WRX 01-20-2006, 10:23 PM thanks bigE, this layout should be easier to manage in the long run
phoenix96 01-20-2006, 11:24 PM Indeed. This layout is why I wanted a Non-Subaru news forum in the first place. This way I can read and participate in the discussions I have an interest in without having to wade through pages and pages of posts on other topics. Having individual threads for car makes was slightly better than the single "Non-Subaru" thread, but it still had the same problem.
amdmaxx 01-21-2006, 06:13 PM Just let them grow, dont lock..
we dont need reposts and 23 threads about dodge challenger..
:)
But if u insist, we try this way
Thanks guys... :)

- Saw a beautiful '73 Ford Escort MkII being rallycrossed in Del Mar, CA today... that thing screemed and moved. :D
WillRX 02-03-2006, 02:41 PM Wasn't sure where to post this, but this new forum is really great. At first I was all, "CHANGE BAAAD!" but now I'm all "SWEEEEEEEET FORUM!" Much easier to navigate to what I want to see. I still check out the new SUVs and stuff, but I don't need to force my brain to filter them out the 5th time they load in a page with something else I'm following. Keep up the good work BigElm, NYC, and everyone else! :)

BigElm 02-03-2006, 10:50 PM Thanks... ;)
Trying to make it better for everyone :)
rsholland 02-03-2006, 11:55 PM Thanks... ;)
Trying to make it better for everyone :)
And you're succeeding. Keep it up.

mh_WRX 02-15-2006, 11:11 AM I am glad to see that this section has really taken off. It was a long time in the making and it warms my heart to see so many actually coming in here and posting.
Thanks Nick..
wingtipz 02-15-2006, 03:15 PM You realize that 8,623 of those are from the original Non-Subaru News thread, right?
mh_WRX 02-15-2006, 04:12 PM yea, but it still showed the need...
;)
EZ Rider 04-26-2006, 12:34 PM Is there a standard for posting news? There is A LOT of copyrighted material that is just getting cut and paste into a post without credit or permission. I'd hate to see this forum go away because of that.
