View Full Version : Bay Area dealerships....
ron_c1 09-16-2001, 06:32 PM I'm finally ready to go out and get the WRX....just looking for a dealership with knowledgeable and courteous staff to do my shopping at. The one dealership I'm hesitant/will not return to is SJ Auto Imports....when I was considering the RS about a year and a half ago they refused to let me testdrive....some BS explanation, and I ended up buying my Celica GTS less than a week later. So, any advice on where to drop the $$$ would be greatly appreciated. So far I've got a good quote from Carlsen in Redwood City and will be checkin them out in the near future...
hkwan 09-16-2001, 08:30 PM You are on the right track for not going to Stevens Creek. Have you noticed there is a Dealership forum while surfing the I-club? Check out the Dealership Forum, its got some good info. on what you are looking for.
whtstr 09-16-2001, 10:54 PM RON PRICE in south san francisco, Charles in the Internet Sales is a cool guy.
joefong 09-16-2001, 11:01 PM santa cruz is one of the best

Andrew 09-17-2001, 12:51 AM Stay away from Stevens Creek.
Go to Santa Cruz or Carlsen.
period.
rex_ruthor 09-17-2001, 02:37 AM They refused to negotiate with me. I didnt even bother with Stevens Creek, although some people have gotten good deals there, and others have gotten screwed. I bought at Livermore for $750 over invoice, and was happy with that.
Stanley 09-17-2001, 12:54 PM I had a good experience with Wayne Herron at Carlsen, I've also heard a lot of positive things about Santa Cruz. If you get it at Santa Cruz, one of your first drives gets to be Hwy 17 - hmm...sounds good.
gareth 09-18-2001, 02:19 PM Nah, take 9 back from Santa Cruz! :)
HydeX 09-20-2001, 10:53 PM Santa Cruz is the way to go. Bought a 2.5 RS from them last year and just bought a WRX sedan from them 2 days ago. Great ppl great service. Plus they are just fun to talk to :D
ryball 09-21-2001, 02:52 PM Santa Cruz DEFINITELY! I got a WRX from them last weekend and they HOOKED me up. No hassle, very up front. I didn't get the feeling of weasle at all. Got a very good price. Plus the drive over the hill is nice.
invisibleman 09-26-2001, 01:52 PM hey guys so other then not negotiating with you guys do they do anything else? (steven's creek) i have a friend that works there so i'm just curious thanks.
brewdude 09-27-2001, 06:17 AM I may have mentioned this before, but I got a super-smooth transaction at Carlsen (although the fixed price is a bit higher than you could get haggling). But, I just realized another reason I dig this place: At no time during the deal-making did the words "rust-proofing," "perma plate," "scotchguard," or "lowjack" ever enter the conversation!

anerd 09-29-2001, 08:41 PM The livermore honda subaru audi dealer is good. For my test drive they just to copy my DL, then gave me the keys and ask that I be back in 15 minutes. I ended up paying $900 over invoice for my 01RS.
Heck, compared to the dealerships in sonoma county, the ones in livermore are very laidback. just to show my GF, we went to the ford dealer to test a couple of stangs. Had to find a salesperson, and he encouraged us to take a test drive. Heck it was less pressure than a saturn dealership!
ron_c1 10-04-2001, 11:46 PM what kinda prices have you guys gotten?? ...i'm hoping for a little over invoice with the way things are goin here since 9/11....unfortunate i know, but gotta go on with our everyday lives..... and take advantage of the situations that present themselves.... so, is it realistic to get a lil over invoice...say ~$500?? so far it sounds like carlsen, santa cruz, and livermore are decent and stevens creek gets a phat HELL NO...
WRX-Hellfire 10-05-2001, 12:20 PM Santa Cruz Subaru, $750 over invoice no haggling. I traded in my 2000 GT-S there so not sure if they want another :)
ron_c1 10-05-2001, 12:37 PM miss the GTS yet hellfire?? ...just wish i could afford to keep both....
WRXDrew 10-10-2001, 08:21 AM Invis-
I went down to Stevens Creek about a month before I bought from Livermore. I am still pissed off about my expierence. The salesman was no help what so ever, he didn't even try to finance me. He gave me nothing but attitude and went as far as to insult me to my face. It was like he was pissed because I was getting a WRX and he wasn't. However, the people at Livermore stayed passed closing two nights in a row so they could help my fianance my rex.
My advice to anyone: Stay the hell away from stevens creek! I guess you dont deserve service unless your a high roller or something

tkautobody 10-18-2001, 05:20 AM I just pick up my new 2002 white WRX at Green Valley Subrau,
they sold the car for me $17.00 over the invoice.
Call Jeff Perkins (707) 421-3300
P.S. He buy me lunch too.
hansking 10-24-2001, 03:05 AM Got my wrx two nights ago for less than 100 over invoice. Green valley was good to speak to, but they didn't have the car I wanted.
Stevens creek has alot of wrx's for those who are interested (i suggested that they had so many on the lot because of their previous pricing policies), but they are willing to deal now.
I dealt with a younger sales guy named Masood, who was pleasant to deal with.
When I get the car back from M2 in Concord, I'll post a review of the mods. Peace
White4drWRX 10-24-2001, 07:48 PM i got my Rex from Bianco Subaru.....
i think i got a good deal from them
i went to stevens creek and the mananger said nuthin under MSRP ..so i left
then i went to Carlson (Redwood City)....they gave me $1200 off MSRP....
but then end up buying at Bianco....got $2000 off MSRP....
end up buyin from them....had to drive an hour tho..
but still got a better deal..so is worth it

mofro4u 10-28-2001, 03:00 PM I just bought a wrx wagon for 200 over invoice at Albany Subaru. Munzer was the dealer and he wouldn't go below that, they also still have like 12 wagons or so on the lot.
Green Valley subaru in Fairfiel had 2 or 3 and they were priced below invoice of a base model. And thats including options. But they didn't have the color I wanted.
Kostamojen 11-04-2001, 05:46 AM What? BELOW invoice at fairfield? Man, they still have crazy prices there... I test drove a 2000 RS there 2 years ago and it had a REALLY low price stickerd on the windshield! They sure like to sell Subarus cheap there...
