I am using a UTEC with my Sti but need to read the engine codes. Is there a good quality inexpensive one? If I have to spend a bunch for a good one should I just buy an Access Port instead?

The AP is not a good code reader, it isn't a true OBDII device and won't always report codes accurately.
You need a separate, generic OBDII scanner/reader. My recommendation is AutoXray, www.autoxray.com
They have a range of units with varying features that should meet your needs.

ScanGauge $129.99. Works great and also tells you 4 sensor readings at a time. You can pick from 11 out of the 12 it can show. It won't show the Fuel pressure but it will show all the other ones it says it can. It has a 1 to 2 sec. delay but will deffinetly show you the basic sensor readings as the ECU sees them.

I use a cheap Actron unit. Cost $80. Works fine to read codes, nothing special.

what about ecuExplorer? I have been using that with my cobb cable....will that not pick up all possible CELs?

Me too i bought it t Bridge Auto parts on 9A in Elmsford, it was same price.. it would be better if it wasnt LCD screen
