Hi experts,

I have a PPP3 kit on my 02 WRX now. This kit is meant to use my stock midpipe, which is 2.25'' in diameter i believe. However, the rear muffler section and downpipe has overall 2.5''.

I wonder if i change my midpipe to a 2.5, would my car perform even better?


please advise...

The stock WRX mid-pipe is 2.5", it's the stock axleback that is 2.25".

Either way, PP3 isn't enough to even outstrip 2.25 really...

are you sure? because i have heard that the WRX midpipe are 2.25 and the STI's is 2.5

The STi and WRX exhaust are identical up to the axleback with the exception of the resonator length. The WRX axleback is 2.25 and the STi's is 2.5.

the stock 2.5 midpipe has a resenator on it right? will removal of the resenator improve performance also?
