I have been at Cobb Stg 2 fow a couple of months now. Two weeks ago I ran my best time in the 1/8th, 8.52@80mph with a 1.81 60 ft. This past week my car has felt slower. I wasnt sure if I was just getting use to the power or if my car was actually slower. Well today I went to the track and my car was alot slower. The temp was the same, I launched the same and everything. My car was running consistant 8.50's 2 weeks ago and my best today was a 8.89@77mph with a 1.95 60ft. I came home and reflashed Stage 2 and now my car feels strong again. Anyone else had this problem?

It could be knocking occasionally. Do you have any way to datalog the car? If so, you could watch IAM and knock correction immediately after your reflash and a few days later. I'm betting you'd see a lower IAM and less healthy knock correction values after more time.

Which map are you running? You could consider a ProTune.

I say that your stage 2 is knocking and that your IAM is dropping from 12 to around 7-9ish. Just took a look at my friends stage 2 and his multiplier was 9. He also said it got slower over time. You dont need to reflash to get your IAM back to 12, just reset the ECU.

I 2nd the theory that your car overtime achieved a lower IAM and thus reduced performance. When you reflash a cobb map the IAM is initially set at 12, over time if excessive knock is detected it will lower the IAM to protect the engine.

Try datalogging if possible to see what happens to your IAM and KC values over time.

Dont run the stage 2 realtime map. I had this problem at the track too, and if you just run the base map, you will stay consistantly faster. I always reset the ECU before racing as well.

Stop!

Resetting the ECU and making more power is a sign that there is a problem with your car.

It is either retard ignition timing over time because it believes it is encountering det or your fuel trims may be shifting over time and causing the car to run richer. Either way, fix the problem. Resetting the ECU is a temporary solution that could possibly damage your car in the long run.
