In preparation of going to Cobb Stg2 as soon as the parts arrive, I have logged some data using ecuExplorer. want to make before and after comparisons to see where my $600 went. I was suprised to see IDC of 93% and MAF rates of 204 g/s. Is this normal? Seems like I don't have a bunch more room (maybe 10-15% more IDC) to up the power before maxing out the injectors.
This data point was at 5700 rpms. Ambient air temp in the upper 30's. IAM of 16, KC of +9.
And if I didn't suck at teh internet...I would post a log...but I can't find out how :confused:
Anyone else get numbers like this off of a stock WRX? Is the IDC that high because I am running way rich, or is it just because of the cold air? I am hoping someone can tell by the MAF rates.
PS...cold air rules :D

204 seems a bit high for a stock WRX - that value is typical more of a stage 2 car. You also shouldn't be in the 90's IDC with a stock car, typically. Are you flashed to Cobb stage 1? Even so, I don't think you should see those high values. If anything, Cobb's maps are leaner than stock. My guess is that your MAF sensor is screwed up and is reading more air than there is. Usually they read less air, which would be a much worse situation. Or, maybe you just have a factory freak. :)

Nope...completely..100% stock.
All I know it that in the winter...my car seems to have about 50 more ponies than in the summer. I was recording 13 psi boost at 2700 rpms, peaking at around 14 psi near the max IDC rpm. I even get noticable boost starting at 2000rpms.
To tell you the truth, if stage 2 would make may car feel like this in the summer, I will be happy. It is so gutless in the summer that I have trouble taking off from a stop without slipping the bejesus out of the clutch.

I'm also at stage 1 93 oct., recently during a logged run I saw 101.96% IDC (which is threoritically impossible, has something to do with how IDC is calculated) and 205.8 g/s MAF. Intake air temp was 68 F.
This was in first gear at 24 mph, 6127 RPM.
So your not the only one seeing high IDC and MAF at stage 1, not really sure if it is "bad" for our cars at this point to be acheiving such high values.
P.S. To post your logs, try putting them in "Wrap[CODE] tags" icon under the advance post section. Usually takes a little fiddiling around to get them looking right ;) .

I have a feeling your just experiencing the effects of cold weather. I don't know exactly how much cold can affect peformance but I do know that the colder the better... colder air means more dense, therefore you can run higher boost pressures without having to worry about your turbo getting angry (to some extent).

Reflash stock ecu and enjoy!
You will probably see higher maf votages in the winter. I see slightly higher readings on cold days as well. What are your Maf voltages? High 3's? Maybe even 4.0, im not sure how high a stock wrx can get up to.

Keep in mind stock your car is running PIG rich. Re flashes usually lean out the AFR and may actually lower IDC's all else equal. The denso injectors in our cars are known to be of very high reliability, even past the normal 80% threshold some say you shouldn't be past.
