i was wondering if anyone has used the perrin ebcs with their setup and im curious if you went with the interruption type or bleed type. or if you tried both which works best. any info on install and or problems would be helpful thanks mj

Interrupt mode is the only way to go. Or another way to put it, interruption mode is the reason to use the EBCS. I'm using the EBCS now and it builds boost faster and holds boost better through the RPM range (compared to the factory solenoid). The install is easy, but you need tuning immediately after installation in order to avoid overboosting. My WGDC maps look nothing like the factory ones and all the values are considerably lower.

i have it on interupt and it is amazing, just watch the gain it has tendenciess to spike

All the interrupt solenoids allow a complete block of boost pressure from the compressor to the wastegate, thus should be pretty much the same in performance. There is very little need for much flow at all when in the state where the solenoid allows air to flow, so there isn't much to argue about there, either.
The only down side I see is that a failure in energized state is very very very bad with an interrupt solenoid, and only very very bad with a bleed type. Either way you're in trouble, but for the sake of disclosure...
I tend to think Perrin's unit is ridiculously overpriced. You can do this for as little as ~$20 or so with a GM solenoid, some extra hose, and a soldering gun. The Perrin unit won't work any better for ninety friggin dollars.

i have done my wagon & a STi with a Perrin EBCS. the STi owner had a MBC on because he liked teh boost repsonse, and after seeing how well it worked on my wagon, he ordered one. i was able to tune it for him so it has similar characteristics of the MBC, w/o the PTFB
