I have read a lot of posts concerning making your WRX better on the track, but, havent seen much about making it better off of paved roads.

Knowing that the WRX is by no means a full tilt off-road vehicle, are their ways to make it handle better on rutted forest roads, windswept snow covered alpine roads, etc.?

Also, did anyone ever figure out if we do indeed have a rear fog light in our car (just waiting to be hooked up)?

Thanks for your input,

Michael

ummmm, body lift and thornbirds???? why would you want to take a good performace car really offroad? i can understand fast rally type gravel fire roads, but not full tilt offroading? why dont you just buy something really old and cheap you can beat on for that purpose?

Because that's the type of roads rallyists drive on, and that's what the car was designed for. Why would take a perfectly good rally car and optimize it for road use?

footypaul: Tires. Having been in a prorally car with rally tires, and seen how good the car brakes just because of the tires, this is the first thing I would consider if you plan on driving on unpaved roads a lot. Following that, I would look into Leda suspensions. That'll smooth out the ride and increase handling.

Thanks Narcisse,

Thats more like the kind of reply I was looking for. Frankly, I wonder the same thing you do. I will look into those options, tires first of course.
