SILVERWRXWAGON 09-20-2001, 08:29 PM Does anyone know how expensive it might be to repaint my wagon imola yellow???? Austin 09-20-2001, 09:14 PM $2,834.94 Ragstylz 09-20-2001, 10:08 PM So does that mean you will change your user name to "IMOLAYELLOWWRXWAGON"? hehe SILVERWRXWAGON 09-20-2001, 10:16 PM you bet your @ss I'll change my name if i get that money, it would look awesome DeanO 09-20-2001, 11:45 PM Even with a quality repaint, expect a 20% drop in resale value for any car with a color change. This rule of thumb holds especially true for certain enthusiast cars such as Porsche and BMW. Keep in mind that a total change in body color is very labor intensive. In order to be done correctly, the body trim, windows, and doors should be removed. In some cases, total repaints make the car nearly unsellable. Just try explaining to a prospective Subaru buyer that you repainted your car on a whim, instead of a collision. Dean Austin 09-21-2001, 12:49 AM *Disclaimer* I really have no idea how much a good whole car paint job actually costs... DeanO is right, they are very labor intensive, so it can't be cheap. jk147 09-21-2001, 01:00 AM yeah, and the paint is not all that reliable either. Unless you get some really expensive paint jobs (not those macco 300 dollar ones.) Expect to pay at least one grand. Solidus 09-21-2001, 01:09 AM Its good to keep in mind that you might have a hard time reselling your car. But remember its your car do whatever you want to it. I personally think a real blaze yellow would look gorgeous on a wagon. Oh to answer your question expect to pay about 2,500 my friend just had his Audi S4(gorgeous car) repainted and it ran him about that much. SeattleWRX 09-21-2001, 02:31 AM My friend paid a grand it it still doesn't not compare to looking like stock. Sure he has custom color, but jams, engine bay, and window trim look like hell. Not worth it man, unless you want to pay a lot. i mean a lot. Mike 2.5 RRRRS 09-21-2001, 11:07 AM Expect to pay at least one grand. A quality repaint/color change will cost way way more than that! A lot of shops won't even do it I suspect. Jeremy RacerinLSL 09-21-2001, 01:02 PM $1,000...hahahhaha...that's hilarious! First off, I've seen $4,000 paint jobs that weren't perfect. Repainting a perfectly good car is a waste of money no matter how bad you want it to be a different color. There's no way to make it as good as stock. The only "perfect" paint job I ever saw was on an older Mercedes and it took 2 months and cost the guy over $6,000. It was perfect though. Don't go there. Chad:cool: kurichan 09-21-2001, 01:07 PM Don't repaint your car. There are too many downsides. The biggest for me is that unless you pay BIG bucks, the quality of the finish will be nowhere near the factory finish (and the Suby finish isn't even that good anyway). Painting a car right is VERY difficult. Mike Anson 09-21-2001, 02:37 PM I was thisclose to forking out for an Imola S4. I have heard that that paint is pretty soft, so it chips very easily. Do a search on Audiworld, if you're interested. It is a damn cool color. jk147 09-21-2001, 04:08 PM I said "at least" one grand. That means more than one grand. Last time I checked, 2 or 3 grand is still greater than one grand. :p |
