trying to install this puppy on my 05 sti andyone done this yet. could not find any writeups

Try iwsti.com.:) One suggestion if your planning to do the ecu route use t-taps and for 12v power source either from the clock or the cigarette lighter.

I did mine a couple of weeks ago. I tied into the stock sensor. Others have added a second sensor.

2005 Impreza WRX STi (USDM, Build date 04/2004)

Black to ground at stereo harness
Red to my +12V ignition I used for the Defi's (tapped off of ignition)
RPM Orange to A23 on ECU (Green)
Knock input White to C25 on ECU (White)

ECU connectors are "A" thru "D" with "A" being the lowest position and "D" the highest.
