View Full Version : 520.7 Hp 2.0 Wrx From Puerto Rico
TOMASCS 02-11-2006, 11:35 PM Just wanted to share with you another WRX with hight HP from Puerto Rico.
This WRX made 520.7 HP. This was with a conservative
tune. The map will be worked on to gain faster spool up
and a more crisp Dyno Graph.
The Car was detunned a bit and taken to the track and ran 11.51 @ 120.66 mph. The Owner/Driver had a hard time driving the car actually tried to go the whole 1/4 mile in 4th gear (car has a 6 speed) and we also
had some clutch problems. As soon as this gets fixed we will
be visiting the track one again.
here is the time slip:
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/7/web/511000-511999/511727_211_full.jpg
I will post the Dyno Chart sometime tomorrow.

I heard the hot air down there is denser and has more oxygen than our cold air up here. Plus, all the humidity works like water injection so no knock or detonation problems. :D
Good job guys!
psylas 02-12-2006, 02:21 PM Very nice, well done :disco:

Redline8k 02-13-2006, 01:18 AM what is the diameter of the uppipe? And Im sure your are running a 44mm tial EG. Im looking to do something with a 35r as well... Also any word on the graph? Im interested in how the cams effected spool.
thanks

Wombat North 02-13-2006, 01:57 AM Only 21 mph over the second 1/8. Most cars would be 25mph plus.
Tell him to change gears and get that clutch fixed

I was hoping to have the graph yesterday but could not get it.
The tuner has it. Will contat him to get the Graph ASAP!
Redline8k 02-13-2006, 03:32 PM I was thinking about using a 2 or 2 1/4 inch uppipe. how does that sound?
I cant wait to see the graph!

since it spins faster at the equation it makes the fuel swirl in the combusion chamber better than any Tornado, thus, the impressive power numbers. :D
Jasper 02-13-2006, 10:12 PM so ej205 w/ pistons and rods, and WRX heads w/ cams....making over 500whp?

TOMASCS 02-14-2006, 12:27 PM just curious *** was in the other lane 16.5@49.9mph ?? did he blow up?
NO, He made a couple of other runs...
CoolRex 02-14-2006, 12:55 PM Probably testing and tuning and tweaking the low end.
Jasper 02-14-2006, 06:03 PM the only difference between usdm sti heads and usdm wrx heads is the cams.
uhh... can someone else confirm/deny this?
i was under the impression that aside from AVCS (and cams obviously), the WRX heads didnt flow NEARLY as well, due to smaller ports, and the fact that the exhaust makes 2 90degree turns before exiting the heads, whereas on the STi, it doesnt (or isnt nearly as severe)
(note, we are NOT talking about JDM v.7 / v.8 heads)
Julio 02-15-2006, 09:06 AM JasperSTi:
It is public knowledge that Subaru has made some strange things. You are correct about your post. However, we have found 02-03 WRXs with 3 different heads (Cams, Exhaust/Porting Sizes) and trust me the difference is VERY noticeable.
We first noticed it when I sent my block to Quirt (Crawford). He in fact told me those were the smallest port size heads he have seen in a Subaru. So I opted for a set
of v8 SpecC heads/cams.
For more info, Id suggest you PM Jeff Sponaugle. (AZScoobie)
BensonRST 02-15-2006, 01:55 PM man, 11.50 with a 1.8 60ft??? that thing must pull retardedly hard. why such a high 60 though? traction, spool, tall 1st, clutch? if you got like a 1.6 it's almost be in the 10's. awesome stuff though.

;)
WRX-ERROR 02-17-2006, 12:48 PM Someone should tell the driver Brake = Bad. :p
Can't wait to see what this car can really do. Plus I'm completely shocked that you got 500+ out of the ej205 and even more shocked that you tried. :D
Grats guys.

Junior2JZ 07-18-2006, 02:55 PM I just have 1 question.. If the tune was "conservative" at 530whp.. why did it get detuned again and only trap 120mph?
Not bashing, not starting ****.. Just curious.. 120mph would be about 100hp detune from an already conservative tune.

My guess would be due to a noob driver.. It's silly to put someone new to a car out on the track with max hp when you tuner can just detune a bit and keep you safe(er)..
D Money 07-19-2006, 01:58 PM OMG, 520whp on a 2.0L, holy ish!
