ok, well the instructions dont say anything at all. it just says it comes with a clutch switch for the launch control. i have no clue what that is. i read through the utec manual and it doesnt say anything about the map switch either.

but i plugged in the main connector peice only, and i set the utec to 0 and had the map switch on 1 (which is my newly tuned map by phil at element tuning) and it runs like POOP. the car wouldnt even start at first.

does the match switch need to be spliced into a power source? because it has a gound/power wire, coming next to the main connector peice. at the actual switcher part, it has 2 little connectors, which im guessing is the cluth thingy.

someone explain this to me por favor??

the red and black wires comming out from the plug side are the wires for the auxilary solenoid the utec can control, they dont have anything to do with the map switch.

And yes, the two other wires comming out of the switch side are for the launch control.

the map switch doesnt need anything excpet to be plugged in.

do you have a laptop?

go into dashboard mode and read what map the utec thinks it's running.

then check that map location and make sure you have sensical data there.

what are the mods on the car?

I'd double check by unplugging the map selector and putting the UTEC back on Map 1 to see if it runs good again.

Really, there isn't much to it. I'm guessing you did not put the UTEC on map 0. It is hard to rotate the switch when the UTEC is installed and screwed down, even with the kickplate and carpet pulled away. Try flipping the switch around and make absolutely sure it is exactly on map 0.

It's also possible something popped loose on your drive home from tuning. Maybe you have a vacuum or boost leak. I'd start checking hoses and such.

dbl check your utec version, and dble check that you have the correct stage map in #1
the maps from utec will run rather roughly untill you go in and tune them.

there is nothing wrong with the map, it just had a custom tune by phil at element tuning. which by the way is the most amazing thing ever.

im thinking the map selector switch isnt showing the right number for which map, because without it hooked up, the utec works fine.

but yea im gonna borrow my bros laptop and check it.
