Hey I used to always assume that if you wanted to get an accessport then you either get 02-03 or 04-05 or 06. But now cobb lists 04 and 05 seperately on their website and I hear conflicting things(someone said they are different and incompatible someone else said you just need to dl a different map for the 04-05). So can someone clarify this for me? I have an 05 wrx can I only buy 05 accessport or lets say I see a nasioc member selling an 04 can I just fix it to make it work with my 05? thanks.

From what I understand they split them out due to some sort of stalling issue when doing this with an update they supply. Depending on how much the person is selling the 04 AP for, I'd rather pay the extra money to get the right product. Remember you're dealing with the ECU (the brain) of your car. If you jack that up, you'll be hosed.

yes, they do have different software between 04 and 05. However, cobb has the software readily available on thier site and through customer service to switch back and forth between 04 and 05. Orignally they attempted to lump them together, and like csewrx said, this caused stalled issues on some 04's using the 05's firmware.

If you are ordering from them, just get the right year, if you're buying used, you can call customer service, OR you can send it into them and they will reprogram from 04 to 05 or vice versa.
