I got my AccessPort and changed the Base. Now, when I want to switch to say Economy Mode (real). After sometime, if I forgot what mode I am, how can I check what real time mode I am in?
When I use the AP to check, it always give me my base mode

there's no way to check what real time map you are running that i know of. If you're not sure i would do a reset to erase the real time info.

You can't check current realtime map.

Just reload another real time map...only takes 5 seconds. Then you will know fo sho.

True....
Econo Map takes lots of self control.
I've used it once.

Bah, Econo mode is useless. basically raises timing and drops boost. Just keep off boost, thats the best econo mode. And Yes, it does take alot of self control.

This might sound like a stupid question.
I just got my Cobb AP and so far I have a TBE and an UP. Should my base map be the stage2 93octane? Or is that going to be my real map?
I have read the manual, but still find this real v. base map thing somewhat confusing . Could someone possibly explain this to me in simple english lol . .

OK. I'll try....
Yes with a full TBE you should run a stage 2 base map. Plane and simple.
Remember that when you flash the base map both sections in the ECU (base map and realtime map) get filled.
The base map has additional logic needed to run at the stage 2 level.
You should not run any stage 2 realtime map with anything but a stage 2 base map flashed.
When you flash a realtime map the base map is still there. Example base map: is Stage 2 93 oct....then you want to run an econo map just flash the econo realtime map....
My advice is pic the basemap carefully. Use one that meets your mods level of the car and the octane you are using. Its better to be safe than sorry so if you only put in 93 oct once in a while then use a 91 oct. map.
Big difference: base map vs realtime map,
Base map: additional logic, never goes away unless you revert to stock or change the base map.
Realtime map: limited control, can be erased by simply unpluging the battery or switching the realtime map...takes 10 sec.
