Hi!

I own 2006 Impreza RS and I need to replace factory installed head lights to HID lights.

What HID kit and what store would you recommend?

Thanks!

I'd recommend buying a set of STi headlights. Only way short of an expsnive retrofit to get proper HID ligthing.

Try doing a search for 2006 HIDs in the Electrical & Lighting Forum. There have been members who have done this already.

sti HIDs are overpriced and still arent even that nice looking. get a phillips or hella converison kit of 4300k or 6000k and u'll be much happier.

Allright.
I'm buying 4300K kit.

I've read that HID light may "flicker" if Day Running Light is enabled. How to disable that?

STI light would still be the better option performance wise as they were made with the HID bulb set up in mind, not as a retrofit which won't work as well. YMMV.....

there's a plug behind the glovebox, six screws and it'll be in plain view.

all of the questions you've asked are answered in other threads, try to do better searches.

also, why do you NEED HID? are your eyes really that bad?

yeah do a search for drl disable.

i recently installed a 6000K mcchulloch's kit a TxWrx's 06 rex. they look pretty good. he had the kit on his rx8 and the output was pretty bad. in the wrx they look pretty good. a decent cutoff, and no real hot spots.

Not quite sure if you care, but doing a conversion is illegal and you can be cited for having improper lighting. I'd suggest the STI HID's if you really wan't them that bad, because they're OEM.

I can't see anything when it's too bright outside. I can't go without sun glasses. When it's dark - I'm blind. When it's cloudy day - this is like holiday for me, i can see everything every good.

My eye doctor said that my vision is perfect, but it has something to do with optic nerve. 12 years of computers...

Two weeks ago I hit a curb. It was very dark and I was going straight at 40mph. I decided to go HID - next time it could be a wall or even worse (somebody walking with his dog).

ummm, NO not when it comes to Subaru OEM HIDs. they sort of just suck. my prodrives with the retro HIDs have a better cut off.
if you want to use your lights, you need to do a projector retrofit and you will be happier :D OEM is not always the best.
