I've been outta the sport for a while, but right before I quit, O.S. was releasing a 4-stroke .21 engine. Did that ever catch on? and if anybody cares, my Yokomo GT-4 was clocked at 68MPH with a doppler gun. =)

Don

p.s.. maybe its me, but it sounds like the shifting point is set, slightly low?

OK, I need one of those and fast.

Jynx, tell me where to get one, please.
Is that gas or electric? How much?

Thanks,
Pete

yup its shifting low, and running WICKED RICH, that was only the 8th tank of gas threw the motor, so its in the final stages of break in, that was about 3/4 of the trigger. anything with more poer then this motor is a waist of money, youll be snaping belt, twisting dog bones, and just breaking things all the time.

How do you figure? Torque breaks these parts, not HP. These motors are torqueless. Hence the 30,000+ RPM operating speeds.

Ive been using Novarossi CX12 in my Nitro RS4 since the engine first came out. (First 1hp .12 sized engine). Never had problem with breaking stuff (Except when smashing into things ;)) I wish I could fit a .15 in it though. hehe

HPI engines are generally regarded as crappy motors.

Ai-yah. Not necessarily crappy, just easier to maintain, and geared towards mainstream, therefore not necessating constant maintence, precise working conditions. Its like comparing an F1 motor to say a road-going ferrari V8. the HPIs are decent motors for their money. Its guaranteed to start everytime, if you don't religious maintain it, you can get away with it. Its not too fickle with lean/rich. Great beginner motor, eventually though, you might wanna upgrade to O.S. stuff, which in my opinion, was the best of everything. Price, performance, maintenance, etc. I ran a .12 O.S. CZ-Z with some minor tricks. =) I believe it dynoed somewhere at 1.1-1.2. ah, well.. it doesn't compare to my riproaring 165hp 2.5L boxer engine. muahahahahahaha

find a way to give a g-tech power on one of those things and test for the Gs!
