sorry but i thought by puting that title up more ppl would come in, anyway i was searching and searching and ran across these finds, a 9.5" wide wheel on an evo and a 265 tire on a subaru, now i know i can run that tire on that wheel but could i do it without rubbing depending on the offset? i have an 05 wrx with rolled fenders, for suspension i am runing coilovers, f&r sway bars, alk, would that be enough along with enough camber to not rub? i cant find the offset of that wheel but in that size what offset would be needed? thanks for any help.

it cant be that bad a 275-45-17 was the stock size on the ss camaro from 97-02 and that was on a 9.5 wide rim a 265 is only 1cm narrower

i am not following how change the width and offset of a wheel changes the suspension geometry, ppl go with wider wheels and change wheel offsets all the time especially the ppl who go with widebody kits and they never mention how it changes the geometry

i wonder what other wheels would look more pimp by going out to a 9.5 the volk te37's would look badass can someone do a photoshop job?
with any offset less than +48, say bye bye to your wheel bearings.

^what do u mean by that
He probably means that they are such lo pro tires that any small bumps are gonna be real harsh.

A 265/35/18 is the same sidewall hieght as a 245/40. Which would in fact be the same as a stock sti's 225/45 the diameter of the whole setup will just be 1" more because of the taller wheel ... But I'm ok with that since my tranny is super low geared. .... I was thinking of doing something like a te37 so it would most likely be lighter at that size than say a 18x7.5 rota tarmac 2.

Well the diameter might be about the same, but there is much less meat on the wheels to absorb the impact of the bumps in the road... so you'll be in for a harsher ride, just the gearing won't be changed all that much.

the overall diameter of the new setup will be taller about an inch taller, just because of the wheel. there wont be enough of a difference between the two sidewall heights to notice a difference ive run a 245-40-17 before and the sidewall on a 265-35 is just about the same.
