I am really interested in a set of work emotions but they are 18x7.5 with a +42 offset . I looked through the offset faq and it seems that they would not be recommended . I was wondering if it would be OK to run these on MY02 wrx ? If it is ok what are the negatives ?

I wouldn't do it. That is 13 mm less than stock, you wheels would stick out and may rub the fenders if you put wide enough tires on them. You would put extra stress on the wheel bearing and alter the suspension geometry.

Skip this set and get something with a more friendly Subaru offset.

I just bought these same rims and i am not concerned. Why would WORK even make this rim for your car if it was so bad for it?

I have ADR rims like that i just bought, the person i bought them from claimed they were a 45 offset :( So they are really 18x7.5 with a 42ET.
The tires are 215/40/18
Now here's the catch... they are going on a MY02 wagon. Even a 45 is too low i've found. Sucks. I'm assuming everyones going to tell me they won't fit, i'm going to try anyway and i'll post back tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies . My car is also pretty low which is another worry .

Also to spleef : Just because work makes them doesn't mean they are ok . Apc makes altezzas..doesn't mean ANYONE should use them

Point taken, i just dont think a company like WORK would develop and engineer a rim for our cars that would have such a negative effect on performance. I could be wrong but im willing to bet that running this set up on my car in the summer/fall months will be ok.

no need to be a smartass :alien:

Ever thought that maybe there are Work wheels made to fit other cars to?

I was actually busting on APC not you spleef :) . I would love to hear that I can run these but I would rather not screw up my hubs etc .

You'd only want this offset because it clears STi Brembos
