Hey guys, I have a 2005 WRX, completely stock, only thing I ever did was unplug the DRL module via the plug under the glove box, about 6 months ago.
Today I had an interesting little episode... First, the Speedometer and Odometer stopped working mid-drive. I stopped at a stop sign, when I pulled away they weren't working. (Speedo stayed at zero, odo stayed where it was, even tho I went a few miles). Then, I got a CEL. It never blinked, just came on solid. Then, my radiator fans were running louder than I have ever heard them. The guage for engine temp never went past normal, and my coolant level is normal, no leaks, ever.
Tach still works, the entire left side of the guagepod still works... I pulled the glove box off and put the DRL plug back in, and made sure no other plugs were out in that area. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this??!!
car has 19k on it... and it had to happen on a saturday, where all the subaru dealers service shops are closed till monday :(
Sounds to me like an electrical / ECU problem, hence my reasons to post. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
