View Full Version : My 06 STI came "broken"

To make a long story short. I purchased my 06 STI at the end of November. Drove the car (keeping below 4k) for around 800 miles. Stored the car when I went on winter break. Took the car out of the garage and it was broken into. Finally, a month later all of the parts have been replaced and fixed.

Today, at my local dealership I was informed my bumper beam and subframe brace have been damaged. It appears to have been in some type of accident before I ever had the car (or "something" happened coming off they are telling me) :furious:

I am arguing with my local dealership because I feel that if my car has been in some type of accident and there are problems because of it, they should give me a new 06. I have arranged several calls that will be taking place Monday, but the dealership I am dealing with is saying that it is "my problem" and they can really do nothing about it.

I will keep everyone informed, I think this is going to be a LONG HARD battle :(

Why is it the dealerships fault that it was broken into and damaged?

The damage done to the car when broken into has nothing to do with damage to the frame of the car and bumper beam/support/it being repainted.

You see what I am saying....

Yeah, Hes saying when He sent the car in to get The parts what were stolen replaced, The Dealership Noticed that the Frame had been damaged.

There is No way that Someone could Damage the frame when they are stealing stuff. That means It was a Factory Fluke, Or Somthing.

Correct.

The service tech and manager that were both working on the car noticed something was wrong immediately. The 2 bolts that should be on the subframe brace are missing as well :furious:

I want to ensure no major mechanical problems with my car (besides regular maint. etc) and I feel with my car already has been damaged.

I fell your pain. When i bought my WRX back in Nov "01 it had body damage also. The dealers do not have to tell you if the damage is under $300. I don't agree with this untold rule but that is just the was it is. Sound like it was either damage it transport to the dealership or while it was being PDI'ed(pre-delivier inspection).Good luck i hope this info helps you.
