Well I just got in on a GB to purchase a set of Kaixen projectors for my 03WRX and I am looking at doing a retrofit of HID projectors into the stock housing.
I am curious if anyone here has done this and what projector you might have used? I am looking at maybe a TSX or TL projector. I have already done a search and didn't find anything except some canadian STI's that done this but it's a completly different housing.
So chime in if you have done this or know of someone that has chime in. I'll keep you posted down the road of my progress.

i've been looking for the same thing for some time now. i've seen a company called HIDTECH that does retrofits for our cars and they look great. too bad i can never get them to reply to any of my emails. kinda weak if you ask me, bad business practices. so i decided to go the route of the HID kit from kaixen. i have a very unique set of bugeye lights that are H4's. it might or might not work with everything and it may produce an acceptable beam pattern. but what may be acceptable to one person, may not to another. i'm very picky with how it looks. if i don't like the way it looks, i'll hook you up with them. but i'm am still looking for other options and i'll let you know what i find

Thanks Hank ;) I had a feeling you would chime in after reading the HID FAQ section. Yeah I came across that thread and that's the one that got me motivated to do this but wondering what projectors that person or anyone might have used. I wish I knew who that was because that looks good.
Do you know or have any suggestions? I know most things I have read the TSX, TL and S2000 seem to be the projector of choice. I am willing to balance light output a bit if one retrofits into the bugeye easier than another.

Yeah I remember talikng with you on the Kaixen group buy thread. That's the HID set I order too. Keep us posted of your progress or anything you find out from HIDtech.

What size bulb did you purchase for your HID kit?
If you purchased an 9007 kit, you're going to be limited as far as what projectors you can use for a retrofit. If you're wanting to go with true-HID projectors, you will need D2S bulbs. The TSX, TLs, and S2000s like you said are the popular ones to retrofit with. I would evnture to the HIDPlanet University (http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=21&sid=2587c4a57cc8e1c922f784162e7671b5) section from the HID forums for logistical info on how to go abouts this - or contact the members who have done retrofits to their '04 - '05 headlights. They'll be able to give you details on how to aim/mount, cut, integrate shrouds, and etc...

Well actually the vendor is new here and really seems to know his stuff. I originally was going to get the 9007 and then he realized I had a H/L combo headlamp and has not order mine. He's holding my deposit and is awaiting for me to let him know what projector I choose and he'll get me setup with that build.
Awesome vendor who has been reallly helpful and not just trying to sell me a bunch of crap. So my choices are open in terms of bulbs.
Thanks I have been reading some stuff on HIDplanet.com and it has been helpful. To bad I can find someone that has done it on there with the bugeye. I'll do some reading over there too but thought I might have some luck here too.
Thanks again for the help

Beware about the place your trying to contact. I ran across a thread about them while doing a search on here. Didn't seem people were to happy with them... just an FYI.
I plan on doing this myself.
