View Full Version : Service/Maintenance Specials
KTR Performance 02-19-2006, 06:50 PM We would like to offer NESIC members a special on our recommended maintenance plans.
while many of you are looking for a facility to service your Subaru to factory standards, you might be wary of taking your car to the dealership. KTR is able to perform all regular maintenance (as well as other specialty work) with increased attention to detail. If your car is modified, you won't need to worry about a nosey dealership looking to void your warranty. We take pride in knowing that all services at KTR are performed in accordance to the factory warranty plan.
please click here for a breakdown of our Subaru service plans (http://www.ktrperformance.com/performance/subaru/subaru_maintenance.htm)
ok, now for the good part...
NESIC members get 3 free dyno pulls with every service... not only will this give a baseline if you are thinking of doing mods, but it will also give you an idea of how a current 'tune' is working or just a way of keeping track of engine performance.
KTR uses OEM Subaru parts, Mobil One synthetic oil, BMC performance air filters (or OEM if preferred) and NGK spark plugs.
if you have any questions regarding any of the service plans or which plan is best suited for you...
please send us an email (info@ktrperformance.com) or phone us @ 978 772.9911
thanks,
franz
REDrum 02-20-2006, 10:36 AM Glad to see KTR marketing their maintenance and service packages. Its been a hidden secret in the subaru community for quite a while; expert OEM maintenance packages with premium parts/fluids and sensitivity to performance mod stages. And, best of all, no risk to having part, or all, of ones warrantee voided, (or worse yet documented on Car-fax),
because of after-market mods.
And now with free dyno pulls.
Only thing better than that would be a "Champagne" room while you wait.... ;)
^ With sex or no Sex ? in the Champagne room. ;)
KTR - do u have package also for high mileage VW's.. ? lol

Leadfoot77 02-20-2006, 04:32 PM Whats the difference between the normal and "*performance" services?
KTR Performance 02-20-2006, 06:13 PM Whats the difference between the normal and "*performance" services?
which would be suitable depends on previous maintenance and current level of modifications or how you drive your car (aka track use or commuter)...
the Normal Service would be a dealer service (but including new plugs every 10K as well as a high performance air fliter (or cleaning current high performance filter)).
the Performance Service is a track oriented package that includes brake/clutch/driveline fluid changes at a more frequent interval. this package is not necessary for everyone, but sometimes substituted for cars that have higher mileage, but with neglected service (as a one time service to make sure that all fluids are in top condition).
If you are planning on doing any track days, we can also handle any club specific inspections while doing the Performance Service as a 'no charge option'
if you would like to know what service is recomended for your car, please send us an email or give us a call.
thanks,
franz

scooby888 02-22-2006, 10:35 PM Oh man I am in busy season and can't take a day off during the week...not open weekends? My 60K is in 3,000 short miles...
joe z 02-23-2006, 09:42 AM why do you have a plug change and diff break fluid every 10k miles??
Every 10,000 Miles
Oil Change Service - Synthetic Oil / OEM Filter
Air Filter - BMC Drop-in Filter
Spark Plugs - NGK (one step colder available)
*
Transmission / Differential Fluid Change - Redline Oils
*
Brake and Clutch Fluid Flush - Motul Fluid
that seems a bit much??
1wrxsw 02-23-2006, 11:49 AM I have used KTR for maintenance and they are top notch.
In my case, I live far away and I would drop my car off in the morning and call Enterprise Rental, they would pick me up and allow me to drop the car at KTR when my car was ready.
KTR Performance 02-23-2006, 04:18 PM why do you have a plug change and diff break fluid every 10k miles??
Every 10,000 Miles
Oil Change Service - Synthetic Oil / OEM Filter
Air Filter - BMC Drop-in Filter
Spark Plugs - NGK (one step colder available)
*
Transmission / Differential Fluid Change - Redline Oils
*
Brake and Clutch Fluid Flush - Motul Fluid
that seems a bit much??
the transmission/differential fluids are only part of the performance service package.
brake/clutch fluid flush is at every 30K (average driving time span: 1.5 years). this is preventative maintenance. overtime your fluid will get contaminated and breakdown, this can lead to master cylinder failure, line failure, caliper seal failure and just poor braking performance and feel. a brake and clutch fluid flush/change is less expensive than any of those mechanical failures, even in the long term. i personally feel that this service should be carried out at least once a year for maximum system longevity, but that is why we offer it as part of the performance service package.
spark plugs every 10K... why would you wait until your engine is down on power to do maintenance? everytime i drive my car, i want to make sure that it is making maximum power, small maintenance can ensure me of this. it is harder to feel power deteriorate over a long time span, so you are less likely to see this. we commonly see cars on the dyno that haven't changed plugs since new, just changing out plugs for a fresh set increases tq/hp/response... i've also seen plugs deteriorate in less than 10K in higher hp applications...
the main reason why we offer two levels of service is simple. most people will not require or want the performance package, but there are certain aspects of good performance oriented maintenace, because we do drive performance cars, that we feel are beneficial for the car as well as the driver. the performance package is better set for someone who is doing multiple track sessions/days/events that would be putting fluids/mechanics through a much harder cycle and thus deteriorating there lifespan not to mention that doing a track day or event with a car that is down on performance or sub par maintenance is potentially dangerous and can waste a day that could be spent having fun or competing.
thanks,
franz

Yes! I will call in about 2000 miles to set up an appointment...unfortunately this time of year I am in busy season, nearing that 60K mark.

lokutus1 02-27-2006, 08:39 AM +1 for saturdays
Group_B wrx 03-07-2006, 10:06 PM +1 for saturdays too
+20 for KTR
they did my cobb stage2 upgrade while i hung around the noble and the old ferraris. very knowledgable people. and just so everyone knows, i checked Patrick Subaru on Rt.9 in worcester (near spags and ihop) and they told me 600-650 for my 60k service. i would rather go to KTR and have someone that always deals with modified WRX's do my maintenence. youll be getting a call from me soon to set up the appt.. im at 52k now, but i think ill bring it in earlier.
Group_B wrx 03-07-2006, 10:07 PM plus who can argue with 3 FREE dyno pulls. its almost too good to be true
WRC_Obsessed 03-08-2006, 07:06 AM I recently had KTR do my maintenace and as 1wrxsw said, top notch work. I didn't know they did maintenance until recently and plan on bringing my car there for all work, especially now that there are dyno pulls involved. It is also nice to know that they can upgrade components during maintenace (e.g. I had them install SS brakelines when I had my brake work done). :D

Cabal 05-15-2006, 01:06 PM Thumbs up to Scott and crew for the great work they did on my maintenance last week, on the least performance car with the worst brakes (if not each in its own right) that they've probably seen in the recent past. They were very fast, as well.
