View Full Version : Help! whats the difference between Tarmacs and Tarmac II bmw078 02-20-2006, 06:15 PM Does anyone know? dbrier 02-20-2006, 06:33 PM Tarmac II will clear STi Brembos. They look the same otherwise. hikeeba 02-20-2006, 06:34 PM I think the original Tarmac I had a more pronounced circular area around the hub where the spokes start. The same area on the Tarmac II is a smoother transition from the hub to the spokes. Also, the spokes on the T I may be a little thicker than those on the T II. T I was a direct knock-off of the Prodrive P1. IMO, the T I and T II are both good looking wheels that appear to be of strong design. Both may be a little on the heavy side. bmw078 02-20-2006, 06:41 PM thanks for the replies Paulie 02-20-2006, 10:15 PM The original Tarmacs looked more like the Prodrive P1's. The Tarmac II's look more like the Prodrive GC010's. Also, the original Tarmacs only came in 17 inch versions... - Paulie dan avoN7 02-20-2006, 10:39 PM and now there's tarmac 3's coming out. even more confusion for everyone  skunkfifty 02-21-2006, 12:15 AM and now there's tarmac 3's coming out. even more confusion for everyone  if you get technical, Rota calls the tarmac 2 the GR-A http://www.rotawheels.com/products.php?id=27 and here is the tarmac 1 for comparison http://www.rotawheels.com/products.php?id=48 the tarmac 2 is a more refined design, in english that means its a bitch to clean. i have a set, they're gorgeous, but a bitch to clean when they're on the car. i cant tell you how hard it is to clean the tarmac 1s, i've never owned them. now look at the monkey! :disco: hikeeba 02-21-2006, 02:40 PM and now there's tarmac 3's coming out. even more confusion for everyone  I don't have my finger on the pulse of the wheels market so much.
