I've realized I wouldn't mind sacrificing some performance for something a bit quieter/smoother. Suspension can only do so much.... it's those smaller abrupt bumps, like transitions in pavement etc. that make for a hell of a lot of noise. I also wouldn't mind to go a little bit bigger...maybe 225/50/17 even to get the extra sidewall.
Any suggestions?

Avon makes an excellent tire, but they usually run a little heavy and soft on the sidewall, which is the opposite of what most people want, but may be just up your alley.
