View Full Version : 1200whp Viper
tmarcel 02-21-2006, 03:42 PM Okay okay so it's not a Subaru! But impressive none the less. Also in light of the recent C6 Corvette vid posted here, this is along the same lines of a crap load of power :) Plus, these guys are local to me (just a few miles across town). To all the whiner babies, please see yourself to the door ;)

js3324 02-21-2006, 03:46 PM Wow Vipers are beastly...that engine is crazy.
This is OK to post here because its awesomness is off the charts, its those pesky evo videos we(by we I mean I) dont like
DjRez4 02-21-2006, 03:46 PM Holy poop
SubyDuz 02-21-2006, 03:52 PM That guy has more torque than ten guys in a circle jerk!!

Plus 23 Civics!

BigJ04STi 02-21-2006, 04:19 PM That is one smooth curve... Makes me happy in the pants...
1fastsube 02-21-2006, 04:26 PM holy sh**, amazing!
jlagace 02-21-2006, 04:26 PM how the hell do you keep traction with that much power
fastwrx006 02-21-2006, 04:27 PM Only an Armenian would do something like this. that's an insane amount of power!
Privates NHand 02-21-2006, 04:29 PM 8.3 Liters of dick replacement.....sweet..... :o
BigJ04STi 02-21-2006, 04:30 PM You don't keep traction... My friend has a supercharged '96 Viper... He makes around 800-900 ft/lb, and it's probably one of the scariest cars to drive in. In all road conditions, the car can and will lose traction, and with the lack of weight in the rear, it just slides.
He was running the stock width 335's (don't remember what tire), but they needed to be replaced.
Chiketkd 02-21-2006, 04:39 PM Damn! Those are some huge numbers. With those mods and tuning, that Viper must have a pricetag similar to that of most single family homes!!!
tmarcel 02-21-2006, 05:11 PM Damn! Those are some huge numbers. With those mods and tuning, that Viper must have a pricetag similar to that of most single family homes!!!
$119,000 and it's sold!
BigJ04STi 02-21-2006, 05:18 PM Better price than this one... but this is one sexy looking viper:

Oooh! We gots a hater amongst us! Like I said earlier, rice boys can check themselves at the door!
Mitshulis 02-21-2006, 05:30 PM I didn't think it sounded all that bad ass until they went all out.
Privates NHand 02-21-2006, 05:47 PM Oooh! We gots a hater amongst us! Like I said earlier, rice boys can check themselves at the door!
So judgemental are we....
Its my opinion and I will keep it.

nah...I'm just saying that everytime something that's not part of the group comes around all the fan boys must say something negative. That's why I made the clause in the first post, to deter those kinds of unnecessary responses. What's the point?

bumper looks like it came from an old Stratus or something....
CirrusWRX 02-21-2006, 05:54 PM I would pay money to see that thing break the belts

Its a forum, and opinions will happen. :D
intence 02-21-2006, 06:57 PM thats all?
tmarcel 02-21-2006, 07:14 PM I'm pretty sure that's on par w/ a 4cyl boosted car as far as cyl's involved. Oh well, guess you can't make everybody happy with a 1200whp street car (rolls eyes).
amukaoen 02-21-2006, 07:19 PM Needs more torque.
the_colombian 02-21-2006, 07:25 PM needs AWD
poormansporsche 02-21-2006, 07:50 PM I bet it's over 110 degree's inside the car too. I did some insulation for a guy with that had a supercharger and NAWZZZ in a first Gen viper. God it was fast. But was seriously the most uncomfortable car i've ever been in. Too much power too little control.
cheers
garrett
skywatcher 02-21-2006, 09:40 PM That thing is amazing, too bad most of the time vipers sound like school busses.
Caplin 2.5 02-21-2006, 09:44 PM thats how no traction sounds like
El Supremo 02-21-2006, 10:05 PM Faster than a Lola Champ car+air conditioning
AllForSRT 02-21-2006, 10:05 PM bumper looks like it came from an old Stratus or something....
dude...***??
Im literally speechless that you would compare a stratus to a Viper. dumb fan boy
happasaiyan 02-21-2006, 10:30 PM id hit it.
...more than 2x.
D-Speed 2.5 02-21-2006, 10:46 PM I demand a street vid! That is sick!
burnin4 02-21-2006, 10:51 PM ah charlotte, cant wait to move back. underground racing is no joke, they build some crazy vipers, including a yellow one that runs 8 sec qtr.
Kevin Thomas 02-21-2006, 11:10 PM 450hp and 700+ wtq at 3000 rpms!
This is the same thing I was looking at. That is just plain ridiculous. That Viper probably moves faster at idle than all my cars at full throttle.
I mean seriously, it probably has more torque if someone took their foot of the brakes than a Civic flooring it trying to pull it in the opposite direction. OMG!!!!
v8_STi 02-21-2006, 11:23 PM There was a video of a blue Viper that made 1200hp/1200ft.lbs. on SVT about a year ago from the same shop. That's insane.
Gregar 02-21-2006, 11:32 PM My twin turbo (7.0 L) Corvette will be coming back from the builder/vendor shortly. If we wanted to, I could have the boost turned up so that it was making about 1050-1100 RWHP, but I would give up the 2-year warranty on it. Moreover, similar cars making 725 HP do not hook up at all on the street, even with 345 width sticky tires. I could only imagine it at 1050-1100 RWHP.
Now take Viper, a car with known not-too-easy-to-hook-up qualities, get it up to 1200 RWHP, and take that out on the street = no traction. I do not know that I could do that in a street car - even 600 is tough.
On the other hand, give that to me in a drag car, with sticky slicks and a built drivetrain ... oh yeah.
doghauler 02-21-2006, 11:45 PM Here's a viper that was at the Rolex24 this year. Rear was badged 1200r tt. Not my cup of tea, but still crazy cool none the less. I don't usually post tags, but this one had to be shared.

ranger5oh 02-21-2006, 11:48 PM that thing is friggen awesome!
Gregar 02-22-2006, 01:04 AM Jeez - a direct port nitrous turbo'd (and probably stroked) Viper. That'll make a few ponies.
I recall being in Houston at a trans builder (Mike Kurtz), and seeing a brand new Viper on a lift that was having a Powerglide (!!) stuck into it so that it could handle the 1200 or so HP coming from the twin-turbo sprayed motor that was just put into it. Insane.
ein86 02-22-2006, 01:06 AM dude...***??
Im literally speechless that you would compare a stratus to a Viper. dumb fan boy
first-bite me.
second-fan boy? of a stratus? um...ok. i like vipers and all but im not gonna wet myself over them, and while they are both bad ass, that bumper reminded me of a stratus. whats so wrong with me saying that? hell, for that matter, i just dont like that bumper....at all. there, i said it. did that just ruin your day? are you shocked that someone has a different opinion than you?
wow dude.
third-i didnt compare the viper and stratus, so you should be speechless.
fan boy....sure thing, mr. srt.
AudiTTkiller 02-22-2006, 01:46 AM wasnt there another viper on streetfire with 1600 whp- by the way the numbers are impressive but not really considering the displacement of the engine is more than 3 times greater than an sti. a gt35 sti has a way better power to displacement ratio than this car
chris-man 02-22-2006, 02:11 AM thats unreal
BUCKman_02 02-22-2006, 01:41 PM wow all of these cars are pretty much out of control. can someone repost the orignal video...that putfile thing is such a pain, maybe just something that we can DL. thanks
Chromer 02-22-2006, 01:56 PM Unreal.
Of course, there should be WAY more left in the engine (If you can get 800hp out of an EJ257 I bet they could double this thing's current output by adding more cubic $$$), but it's still just nucking futz.
Ctracer911 02-22-2006, 03:26 PM hahahha that one off ebay has 1100wtq at 3800 rpm can you say G FORCE i bet with some drag radials that thing will shove your tounge into the back of your mouth and choke you hahahhaha. nice cars just wish they could use all that power.
CirrusWRX 02-22-2006, 03:27 PM think it gets good gas mileage??
west005 02-22-2006, 03:30 PM It should be in the VIPER forum
1990Loyale 02-22-2006, 03:43 PM Boner
schnoog 02-22-2006, 03:44 PM Meh...Z06 is faster
1990Loyale 02-22-2006, 03:46 PM think it gets good gas mileage??
i would guess it gets like 5 MPG.
BoostdBoxer 02-22-2006, 08:40 PM Cool car but dyno videos are just plain o boring
BREWPUBEAVER 02-22-2006, 08:45 PM 8.3L and ten cylenders must rock
tmarcel 02-22-2006, 10:01 PM Cool car but dyno videos are just plain o boring
Yeah I kinda agree but the turbos just sound so sweet. They've also got a vid of the same Viper pummeling a 2004 Cobra that has a 150 shot and and all of the other bolt ons. The Cobra looked slow in comparison!
Garwin 02-22-2006, 10:53 PM Oooh! We gots a hater amongst us! Like I said earlier, rice boys can check themselves at the door!
heartfully agreed. we got ourselves a homer here in private 'n' hands.

looks pretty similar.
SPOOLN 02-23-2006, 09:33 AM Must be nice to have that kind of money, to buy, then build something like that.
armowrx 02-23-2006, 12:55 PM Only an Armenian would do something like this. that's an insane amount of power!
something against armenians?
Mitshulis 02-23-2006, 02:20 PM Well when you have 500hp and 500tq stock with FI you are going to kick some anus :)
tmarcel 02-23-2006, 03:12 PM I stopped by their shop today and damn, they've got turbo Vipers everywhere! Well, they probably had like 6 of them in various stages of being turbo'd and had one on the dyno when I got there. Pretty cool place!
js3324 02-23-2006, 05:25 PM Meh...Z06 is faster
While this may be true pertaining to certain road racing for a drag car you cant beat the potential of the Vipers motor with some turbos it has an entire 1.3 liters and 2 cylinders more and any five year old will tell you bigger is better
I would take a Z06 for a road racing even though I bet its a bit slower on a track stock for stock(depending on the track of course) and the handling balance is better and probably gives more confidence.
MPRZIV 02-23-2006, 08:04 PM teh srt-4 is teh fastar
tmarcel 02-23-2006, 09:49 PM teh srt-4 is teh fastar
