I had a squeak around the sunroof and I finally found it and took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole sunroof assembly and said a weld broke or something, now three weeks later its doing it again and was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the sunroof assembly?

Sometimes I get a rattle from the sunroof right after I close it. The rattle usually goes away after a few miles of driving.

i get the same thing too .. really annoying

Squeaks only when open, in any position, regardless of position.
Very high pitch squeak like a dog toy, but not as loud.

Had the dealer look at it, but they said there was nothing they could do about it. Funny thing is I believe them.

I mean replacing the squeaky sunroof/slow window motor/rattling door/ window gouging tracks, with more new, poorly designed, economy parts is just going to result in the same problems.

Face it, we bought economy cars. Not a complaint really, but we shouldn't expect a Lexus level of fit and finish in a Subaru. It's merely a fun to drive car with AWD. I feel it's better to just accept it and turn the volume up.

im not bicthing too loud about it but if its something that can go away with a few dollars, lil elbow grease, and some creativity then i would like to hear ideas. Expecially if people have done things before. as it is now obvious im not the only one with this problem.

There is a mod for it floating around.. apparently involves weather stripping or sumthin.. the link is gone which is annoying, since I have the same problem and can't fix it.

Yeah, under "Mods" there used to be a fix for the sunroof, which involved taking off the lining, and using double sided foam thing.

Well I cant let it go, it didnt do it until about 4000miles and when the dealer replaced the sunroof assembly it stoped again for a while, so I think I will have them fix it again because last time they said a weld broke on the assembly , I guess thats what the warranty is for.
