hello all swapers....:)

just finishing up installing a usdm 2.0 (engine only) into a 97 obs wagon 5mt for another member. i'll post some more pics as soon as i take some lol. i didn't want to post until i knew things would be a sucess and i just completed mating the harnesses so i consider that a victory. what a pita to do the wiring. engine + crossmember were fast, p/s threw me a curve ball, cooling system, well i'll get to that, but the wiring took the longest by far.

^starting point for wiring :D

anyway i'm posting up to see if anyone has an awnser to this, what type of radiator will bolt in (i'm assuming the thin n/a one is too small) with minimal fitment issues, and will the n/a fans work? the fans are the a/c model, so i have two, but they are two wire instead of three wire like wrx fans. any suggestions?

also, if anyone has wiring kuestions with similar donor vehicles, i may be of help :) i might even make a wiring diagram for this so i can do it again faster.

Pretty much any Impreza radiator will bolt in- it's just getting the hoses to fit that's a little bit of a problem.

The N/A radiator has not been an issue with my swap, and I've been cruising at 75 on the highway then in stop-and-go traffic for 30 minutes at a strech with no overheating issues. That was in 100+ degree heat.

+1 for using the n/a radiator

just cut the spring on the lower cap and route it to the upper surge tank... route the upper tank to the over flow

yes u can use the oem one. or the old LegT. or a koyo for the older chasis. on a budget, then slap a better thermostat in there just in case.

well runs great, 2 days and counting. two issues, the temp guage is off due to sensor variation i assume, + i still need to take it to work, put it on the lift and drop the fuel tank to add a solenoid to the pressure sensor.

radiator is working well :) thanks for the posts regarding using the stocker.
