This guy at work came up and asked me if the car was mine, I said yes, he gave me a compliment. :) Then his next words were....."this thing has 140hp right?" I said, no you're thinking of the Mazda Protege 5, this is the Subaru (I've debadge the Subaru and AWD on the hatch leaving only the WRX & Impreza on the lower left corner). This has 225hp, I said and his jaw dropped.

The car is such a sleeper that a good majority of people out there doesn't know what it is. :cool:

You should have told him it has 227hp :)

Well it's better than being compared to a neon.

I had that happen to me. You know the 95-2000 models with the commercial that said "hi, Im the neon" people say the headlights look the same

it's not that the WRX looks like a protege, it's more like the protege tries to look like a WRX.!
just check out the protege's interior - the centre dash area.

I was crossing the US/Canada boarder and the guy searching my car said "So.....when are you going to get a fast subaru, like the WRX something or other...?" I said "Im gonna cry now, but its fast...." He looked at me and said "Good, dont show me, you can go now sir." Ouch.

Not related to my WRX....but I feel sorry for those who buy the Lexus IS300 Sportcross (wagon) and somebody will ask them if that is the new ACCORD wagon :lol:

That taillight design is so whored out that it doesn't look original on the Lexus. What a shame.:mad:
