I hear there is a way to keep the engine from dying after you save your changes ot a UTEC map. How is it done?

How is it done? tmarcel 02-27-2006, 12:21 PM Give it a little throttle but don't go over 1500rpms  I am not kidding. Maybe there's a more sophisticated way and that's probably what you're looking for LOL! If there is a way I'd like to know too. On my car, I can save maps and it doesn't stall. Of course that might have something to do with the blow through MAF ;) cdvma 02-27-2006, 12:35 PM As soon as I hit save I give the throttle a little blip. Works well. metoo 02-27-2006, 01:02 PM Of course that might have something to do with the blow through MAF ;) I have that 2. Thanks guys Freon 02-27-2006, 01:59 PM I figured out the same. Rev it up slightly before you hit save. Lost_Pete 02-27-2006, 03:49 PM Do as they say................. regards Pete tmarcel 02-27-2006, 08:03 PM I have that 2. Thanks guys Have you got the basic scaling functions (the 0% area) tuned pretty well? Mine wanted to stall before I tuned it the other day. I also have a cable TB vs your DBW TB. That might make a diff to as I've got mine bumped up slightly with the adjustment screw (I'm guessing the DBW doesn't have that?). Davenow 03-04-2006, 01:14 AM my WRX never stalled on map save My STI stalls almost every time if I dont goose the gas a little as I hit save ZR2_S10 03-04-2006, 09:38 AM Yea, I often scan, and will make minute changes, while sitting on the shoulder of the road, and the car never stalls when saving. It does bog a lil, and the rpms jump a lil. I think that on the sti's its the electronic throttle that doesnt react fast enuf, and thats why it dies. gaby 03-25-2006, 11:28 AM Mine died once, the diference was that I have some 41's on the timming map. It always stalls when I save a map. T-WRX 03-25-2006, 01:32 PM Yep, the goose of the go pedal is the ticket. :) |
