Ok, so i have an 05 wrx and was wondering what i should get for EM. I have heard a lot of good things about the acces port, but i need more opinions other than, "its sick." I have intake, inlethose, headers, up pipe, downpipe, exhaust, and wanted to know if the AP stage 2 map will help me cause that says u should have turboback and stock intake.

Ap + Protune is what would be great for you. With the intake, headers, an Off the shelf map will not cut it.

ok, the guy i am buying from can do that for an extra 200, but will it be more cost effective to just get a tune from a place like dynocomp?

what do you mean cost effective? if hes going to protune it also for an extra 200, thats a hell of a deal. usually its about 300-350 i think...

ok, i can get the ap for like 600. Then i can get the protune for an estimate of 200-250. I will try to get a deal. Or i can go to a place that will reflash my ecu with a tune for like 700. So i am trying to figure out if its worth it to have the AP if i am going to pro tune it n e way?

yea, thats what i was thinking, but a buddy of mine told me that that ****s way to complex to use yourself. I am looking for a way to change between a race, daily, and fuel savers maps easily. But i have noticed that the AP is only stage 2 and your protune. Do you know how hard it is to work with the ecutek?

Using a cobb ap u can switch to economy, anti-theft or your stage maps using realtime maps. U just plug it in choose the map u want and go its idiot proof mine works without any setbacks just my 2 cents. :disco:

i dont think you can unless your a vendor. you could also check with PDX's e-tunes for the Cobb AP. $150 gets you 1 base map and 5 realtime maps i believe (somebody correct me if im wrong). maybe you could tell them to do stg2 base and more aggresive or less aggresive realtime maps.

yea, so far all the research i have done has brought me back to the AP. plus many people have told me that once you get it tuned, you will prefer to drive the car on the highest tune instead of economy. does PDX have a site i can look at?

^^^^^^^ search on here for them. a lot of people love em and say it was a huge difference from the OTS map.

Why not just dump the intake (which has been proven time and time again to be pretty much inaffective) and go with the AP and get all the benifits. If you have a DP and exhaust you've got a turbo back....

well, i would ditch the intake, but my stock one is back home in colorado. Making it diffucult. Plus i have been told that bc i have the other **** the AP wont do me to well w/o a protune.

Stock intake can be found cheap in the "for sale" forum. Just because 1 guy said it wouldn't do much without a ProTune doesn't make it "gospel". Plenty of people run the same mods on Stage 2 and couldn't be happier. Yes, a ProTune will yeild higher results, but I gotta say that the OTS Stage 2 map isn't bad at all. The only thing that isn't in the "cobb" plan is the headers and to be honest....they won't make a difference. Check out Unabomber posts about mods he runs on stage2...trust me, you're no where near as modded as he.

I thought the OTS was good to. . till I got my PDX maps.10X smoother. Ap is the way to go. Things been great to me and very happy with Stg 2-93. No need to change the factory combo.

Go to the PDX Tuning website and you can order the Cobb AP and the PDX maps all at once. There is a form on the website that you can fill in with all of the information about your car so the maps can be customized to your car.

do you mean the AP? if its on backorder, then buy it from a vendor like CVR motorsports that has them in stock...and probably for a good deal as well.
