Well if you set it on stage two, that's basically your set up. Minus the BOV. You're gonna have to get a tune to get that thing to help at all.

I love mine. Thinking about getting it tuned after I get my new turbo.

I think for economy mode alone it's worth the money. I get 375-400 miles per tank now. But I do miss the power. Oh well. I'm broke phi BROKE!

its not that i had No clue on what it does...its after the fact that i just needed to be clear on. maybe i should re-phrase that question, do people usually get it tuned by tuners or do they do it themselves? i have been reading on the cobb ap for an hour before i posted this and have been researching forums for the past week about it.

they do both. you can have it pro tuned or just leave it w/ an off-the-shelf map.

You still don't understand what it does. An hour worth of reading and 1 week of research is not really enough if you still can't grasp it. By default with AP alone you cannot tune it yourself (because you'd need the ST software to do that). Initially you could run the OTS maps or you could take it for a ProTune. My suggestion... open the box when it gets there and just take out the manual and read that 3 times over. This post is not meant to upset you... if you rush the install or don't completely understand what you're doing you could be left with a fugged up ECU.

As Cobb says, the AP is primarily a map transportation device. A map is the data that the Engine Control Unit (ECU) uses to run your car. You can download a couple dozen different maps for your car from Cobb's web site. Then you can copy up to 10 of them from your computer to the AP. You hook the AP up to your car and flash one of the maps onto your ECU. This is what I did with the Stage 1 map. You only need a protune if there isn't an off the shelf map on Cobb's web site that matches your list of mods.

If you decide to get a protune (depending on the software they use) they can make a map that you can load on your AP. Then you can switch between maps including the one they made for you.

So, if you have a BOV, then the stage 2 wont really help you? I have intake, inlethose, headers, uppipe downpipe, exhaust, and i want to be able to use it out of the box for about 2 weeks and then get a protune. So if i need a protune is it worth it to get the AP a all?
