Its been awhile since aftermarket heads/cams have been out for the 2.5l STI motor.

There has been alot throwin around of dyno #'s...and theory about shoulda/woulda gains with head porting and aftermarket cams.

In the last few months we've locally gotten to see what a good set of heads/cams can do.

The cars:
FP red equipped STI with a Crawford S3l motor and a full DPR head job with stage 2.5 cams.

GT35r equipped STI with a Gruppe-S stage2+ motor with DPR headwork and stage 4 cams.

As is the norm the car have all the supporting mods like fuel upgrades/FMIC/exhuast etc etc...and even meth injection.

Fact:On 91 octane gas the cars put down about 30-35whp MORE whp then the others STIs with the same turbos and same tuner without the headwork/cams... and as the boost goes up so do the differences.

They spool faster, require less boost to make the same power as a factory cammed/non headworked car.

I know alota you guys have done your homework...but so far i've seen more hearsay and purchases made on promises then real world gains.

Just thought i'd share the info i know...Its smart to know what gains you'll see before a 3-4k investment is made :)
