Neither will bolt in. You will more than likely need new axles for either, but an 05 would be easier due to the whole differential issue with the 06s. Not an easy job in any event.

Okay so for an 05 and 06 i need front axles
06 diffrent ratio so it needs r160.
q1. can i use the stepper gears from my 02 wrx to make the same final drive as my current r160
q2. Is the clutch the same somewere i heard its a push or pull <-- more info on this please..

Here's what I know, but check my brain:
To make the 05 work:
New axles
Nothing else
To make the 06 work:
New axles
Your old center differential + old rear end
New 06 center differential + new 06 rear end
Plus, something to make the new clutch work OK as the 06 is a push type and your old clutch is pull type. (I might have them types reversed as my memory sucks)

Isn't the clutch a different style on the 06 as well? Pull vs push or the other way around. I can't remember.

The 06 has a different rear differential reduction ratio as well as a different center diff ratio.
