View Full Version : New coupe and 2 door models??
Scooby fan 03-14-2006, 01:59 PM I had to call ICBC yesterday about the discounts for "Passive Immobilizers" on my LGT and my wife's Impreza 2.5i. I was directed to Dustin in customer service because he is the EXPERT in this area.
:disco: :disco:
Dustin: What make and models are you asking about?
SF: Subaru Impreza 2.5i... the 2006 sedan model.
Dustin:Is that the 2 door coupe or 2 door sedan or the 4 door?
SF: Subaru only makes it as a 4 door.
Dustin: No....They make all three of those.......is yours 4WD or 2 WD?
SF: Subaru only makes AWD cars.
Dustin: No sir....they also make them all in 2WD.
SF: OK...mine is a 4WD....4 door sedan
Dustin: Look sir...The government issues this book and they wouldn't put that information in it if Subaru didn't make those cars...There are 15 models of the Impreza!!
We did the same dance over my Legacy GT Sedan
Anybody want to order a LGT Coupe with 2 wheel drive?? Wonder if it is FWD or RWD??
Does anyone else feel that ICBC may not know what they are doing??
Keiho 03-14-2006, 02:03 PM You should've just asked to speak with someone else.
Scooby fan 03-14-2006, 02:09 PM This was the guy who I was directed to because he was th MAN in this area??
aspect 03-14-2006, 02:39 PM I'd have a lot of trouble deciding between the 2-door coupe and the 2-door sedan.

I would've still asked to speak with someone else.

You may be right?? It might be that other "Experts" there would have a different book for reference....naw...I don't think so!!
Penphoe 03-14-2006, 03:51 PM I guess that since there are some older Subaru's running around that are FWD, and some coupes running around town (like my RS coupe, my cousin's SVX coupe, etc.) that they're still listed in their book.
Heck, someone prob. has a FWD 2-door Subaru SVX coupe!
Stoopid people make me feel more stupider.
LaterZ!
Darren!!

I say we firebomb the ICBC buildings by crashing SRT4s into them
Gethin 03-14-2006, 05:08 PM Are you sure you didn't call Wolfe Subaru? ;)
zing!
This is another example of gov't officials not using their own minds, but rather blindly following what an incorrect book says.
stupid asses.
Scooby fan 03-14-2006, 05:21 PM I'm holdin' out for the LGT 2 dr. coupe with RWD....can you spell "DRIFTER"??...no more understeer :)

hey hey hey..... lets just keep the harrassment to those that really deserve it.
Honduuh.
EDIT: My bad... i just realized you used SRT4s in your example becuase of thier missile-like speed, and scud-like agility... sorry for jumping to conclusions. :p
clsmooth 03-15-2006, 05:38 PM Does anyone else feel that ICBC may not know what they are doing??
You would first have to show an example of ICBC knowing what they're doing, so that you can tell it apart from when they do not know what they are doing.
^ haha
i cant say iv ever had any problems with them... but we have all heard the stories.. and they dont stop coming
BluScopion 03-15-2006, 09:49 PM he must be referring to this RWD Impreza in the D1 event

Scooby fan 03-16-2006, 01:23 AM Seems that he has the "Understeer" problem licked!!

bluscorpion with the setup, and Scooby fan puts it away.
LetItSnow 05-13-2006, 11:29 AM Although I prefer what we consider the standard definitions of coupe (2-door) and sedan (4-door), they're actually based on passenger space in volume. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but we don't make the rules, yeh?

Meh, like Penphoe said earlier there are Urabuses running around that are 2-door and FWD so the guy had to make sure as per his manual. So he doesn't know the Urabus lineup inside out, big whoop.
Regarding the "expert" status: he's probably more of a procedures/law/red-tape expert than a car expert. You did call about immobilizers, and not to discuss the Urabus lineup.
