Just saying hello to everyone. I recently got my 05 STI and just got done driven her back home to Alaska. Thinking about going to stage 2 but still trying to read up on how it effects my warranty. Stage 2 that much of a jump??? Thanks!

Unless it looks like OEM and feels like OEM and acts like OEM, then you should be ok on your warenty, but if not...say good bye to that warenty. LOL.

Stage 2 is nice BIG jump on a WRX, I'm sorry to say I don't know how it feels on an STi :( .

On the warranty issue, as Jordy said, Subaru can disallow warranty repairs on modified cars, if there is any possibility that the mod, or extra power generated from the mod, could have shortened the life of the part in question... basically, if you want be certain to protect your warranty, you need to stick with cosmetic mods until the warranty period is over.

I decided not to go that way :p .

ur warranty will just go away..simple as that.. however u can always defend ur car..(for instance if something on ur car breaks that has no affect by ur mods than they are liable to fix) so i've read from SOA.. however chances are u will lose ..if u just got ur STi id say first get used to ur car in power and how it handles and keep ur warranty for awhile.. one of the members just got a Evolution 9 (WRX8U82) and he wants to upgrade but wants to keep his warranty for awhile..so in my opinion sense u just got the car and dnt want ther warranty gone than just hang on for the mods.. i know its tempting..but its all on the user..

Where are you at in alaska, and welcome. I would spend some time researching mods, and getting money together for them. THat would give you a chance to see if your car has any little issue's the dealer needs to take care of for you, and then when you have everything ready, just go for the mods. Personally, I modded my car the first week I had it, but I don't care about warranty.

warranty would be void on repairs required because of the modification... your entire warranty would not be voided however. If your in Anchorage... come on out to the meets with that STi :)

Cool cool, ummm where are the meets??? And thanks for the advice to everyone who posted :) I've gotten pretty used to driving her on crap roads lol Canada was..........well.......not fun. Finally starting to see dry pavement once again and my fingers are crossed. I take it that changing out sway bars or suspension shouldn't void warranty should it? or do they have an answer for that too? Thanks again!

LOL hahahaa nah, you'd probably take me right now. I'm still debating on when to go to stage 2. I already have my TBE and getting an AP hopefully next week. Plate wasn't meant for you though lol better yet, I'll tell you I'm stock after I mod and race you :lol: Ummm as to above nope, wasn't in a gunstore asking about snowtires sorry! Sounds like good times! Sure thing about waving but umm since I'm new lol I have no idea what color or plate you have. I don't know how many silver 05 STI's there are but if anyone see's me this week I'll have my dog in there with me lol He's a 125lb anatolian shephard. Flag me down if anyone see's me as I would like to meet some people on this site!
