View Full Version : will engine/tranny mounts help my problem?

Ok. If I very slowly let out the clutch and very slowly get on the gas the car feels pretty smooth. If I do anything less than this, the car feels like it bogs for a second than jumps to life and sorta lurches a little. Shifting into 2nd gear, the car bounces a little sometimes too. Also, when I'm crusing at normal speeds and take my foot the gas for a second and put it back on, the car seems to jolt or something.
I'm thinking that because its a tiny torqueless engine that when you take your foot off the gas, the power drops instantly and starts to slow down. My friend's Geo Metro felt the same way.
Double clutching when I downshift has corrected the bucking from downshifting and I do try to rev match when upshifting. From a stop, the car feels like its going to shake itself apart sometimes.
Would engine and/or tranny mounts help make the car feel more solid when I shift? Or does my shifting from 1-2 gear just suck?
