View Full Version : Why cant people just let me play?
Silver4Banger 03-21-2006, 04:18 PM So I was around Dimond and I decided that the Sports Authority parking lot looked a little too vacant. I took it upon my self to put it to use. I played in the snow and ice for awhile. Got a few people watchin and laughin and then one person had to ruin it all by callin the cops. :( I dont get it. I was courtious and never got too close to parked cars and even helped a lady diagnose a suspension problem. I just cant win...
AKSubie 03-21-2006, 04:36 PM its all the religious righteous MFers in this town. Same stuck up people that banned the SCCA from using ASD school sites because the tire squeeling echoed up the street to their posh overpriced home and made their overly eloquent outdoor dinner party (BBQ with nice plates) less enjoyable because they coudlnt hear the growling of the bears. Same people that feel they are in the right to police the highways by staying in the fast lane AT or even a little below the limit.
Bitter... meeeee, never LOL...
02redwagone 03-21-2006, 04:47 PM I agree ten billion trillion percent.
Mavrik 03-21-2006, 05:14 PM WORD
always ppl trying to kill the fun. I like those self promoted citizens to cops that for no reason just switch into your lane just so you have to slow down. Even though they clearly have no need to be in that lane at all.
WRXAK 03-21-2006, 06:14 PM I'm with you except the whole "religious" part. I go to church every week, and drive like a bat out of hell. Why even include that in your rant? Rich people are not always very "religious", and christians don't always obey the speed limit.
Other than that, Amen brother.

Big-Sexy907 03-21-2006, 06:32 PM I had someone threaten to call the PO PO's on me for the same thing...
cooparu 03-21-2006, 06:38 PM Maybe it was some Honda boys then. ;) Could have been anyone.
How long were you enjoying the conditions? Best only to do it for a couple minutes and move on, to avoid attention.
As much as I'm looking forward to summer, I have to admit in the summer I miss the icy roads and lots. They're fun. :)
JordyB 03-21-2006, 06:51 PM Private property is private property...and if your doing it longer then a few minutes...i'd say you played your hand and lost...better luck next time. Oh, and ya should come out to a Rally-X for some legal fun. ;p
edo2000 03-21-2006, 06:53 PM ..As much as I'm looking forward to summer, I have to admit in the summer I miss the icy roads and lots. They're fun. :)It is nice to have a car which becomes progressively more fun the worse the road conditions get. On the other hand, if spring (or at least, breakup) doesn't begin fairly soon, I may be contemplating suicide LOL.
cooparu 03-21-2006, 07:02 PM The last snowfall is melting fast here. Lots of "puddles" showing up on the roads. Pedestrians, beware.

That reminds me...I was inches away from getting someone on Arctic a few days ago, hahahah!!!
AKSubie 03-21-2006, 07:33 PM yeah, I need to duct tape my Airbox mod closed.. LOL.. so I dont get hydro locked...
SQUAD_907 03-21-2006, 07:43 PM it was me! i was jealous of ur fun!
lover707 03-21-2006, 08:41 PM that is why u should do it when there is no one around.. like the parking lot
on 36th after Cst.. there is a huge parking lot to do drifts, donuts, or what ever,
just dont do it on the bank parking lot..night time is the best time..
just watch out for the light pole...
LowNSlowNeon 03-21-2006, 08:42 PM How bout you driftar kings do it in an empty parking lot late at night.. not during the day in a parking lot with other people....
02redwagone 03-21-2006, 09:20 PM Park behind the library is usually empty. The very BEST one(s) are out at the motocross track.
tribalwrx 03-21-2006, 10:57 PM same thing happened to me when i passed a f150 doing 115mph on the new seward hwy , he actually floored it (with his 5yr old in the truck) to try and catch up and then when i had slowed down and pulled into a parking lot of my old work place he got out of the truck and told me he was calling the police, well needless to say i proceded to tell him go ahead call them and gave him the finger(that was after i told him to step away from my car before he got a beat down in front of his kid). they can call the cops all they want but unless the officer see's you doing something breaking the law they really can't do anything about it unless the person puts you under a citizens arrest then i guess your hosed a bit.

LiLpNoY 03-22-2006, 12:14 AM I would have totally joined you had my wife and kid not been the car. I waved at you while you were doing your drift.
Silver4Banger 03-22-2006, 12:45 AM i was wondering why you hadnt joined me.
fc6666 03-22-2006, 12:56 AM i guess i shouldn't post any pics of my rally-x in parking lots
02redwagone 03-22-2006, 01:43 AM Or just do it anyway. I for one want to see.

Hehe, a while back I remember reading an article about that phenomenon where people jump in the fast lane to regulate traffic... It was in the newspaper "blogs" and some person said that they jump in the fast lane to slow people down when they seem to be going too fast. Later, the next week, an actual cop answered back to the author, something like this: "It is a good thing I did not catch you doing that because I would have pulled you over instead for obstruction of traffic. You are not the police and it is not your job to determine who is right or wrong and then act upon it. People can get hurt that way, and as a 'concerned' citizen that you seem to be, you should know better." I was rolling when I read that reply. :disco:
AK_2002_WRX 03-22-2006, 03:00 AM i hate people that drive slow in the fast lane. yeah i got the cops called on me too recently:devil:
i also hate my homeowners association:furious:
LiLpNoY 03-22-2006, 04:47 AM oh, man i was should have called the cops on this Expeidition (?sp) eariler. Here I was traveling at a high rate of speed coming off bragaw going west bound down NL. I look around, sparse traffic so I'm okay. Next I look at my rearview and all of a sudden ths Huge SUV is right on my tail. I'm in the left lane, and before I could even think about moving over this guy cuts right and zooms past me cutting the guy next to me off. I continue at my rate of speed which well over the speed limit just watching this guy. He proceeds to use all three/four lanes as he weaves in and out of traffic. NOT very nicely. I know how us subie/tunerz drive and we do drive fast and weave but I pray that none of us drive like this guy was. This guy was acutally pushing people out of their lanes and into other people. Nor was he using blinkers. This was just before noon. Reason i didn't call the cops was 1: didn't dawn on me at the time, and 2: did i mention I was traveling at a high rate of speed?
AK_2002_WRX 03-22-2006, 04:56 AM i would've did it back to him. or brake check him when i was behind me.... i'm just an ******* with lots of road rage:devil:
S4AVT 03-22-2006, 04:56 AM Same happend to me about 2years ago.. I got ticket of 2poin with 75 dollar fine

HEMI Durango ass monger did this same thing to me. He almost took me into the median on Minnisota and Tudor.
AK_2002_WRX 03-22-2006, 05:38 AM sometimes i'm tempted to let a laser sight shine on their rearview mirrors. but i have more control than that:devil: i hate people that drive like that. especially the mother****ers with the snowmachines in the back:furious:
02redwagone 03-22-2006, 05:42 AM The calvin sticker might as well be a bullseye.
Why in the hell is Alaska so Redneckish? Is this overflow trailerparking?
I'm so getting flamed.
S4AVT 03-22-2006, 06:10 AM slam the brake..

And that makes you cool how?....
You disrespect someone and then threaten to beat him down?.. I doubt he was gonna make a move on your l33t car.... You know a lot of people in Alaska are packing... You're lucky you don't have a bullet in you..
Is it just me or am I the only one that doesn't take kindly to someone threatening me?....
OrionAK 03-22-2006, 01:18 PM Hahah, I saw you doing that, about 7:00 (you drove behind the Forester a couple times). I saw Lilpinoy pull into the parking lot and leave right away too... I was laughing thinking he showed up to shop but bailed before the cops showed up and he got nabbed for driving a similar car... (come on, you knew they would show up, I did...someone would call them or one would be driving by and see you).
You were still free and playing when I left the parking lot...you must have had several minutes before the po-po spoiled the party. :)
OrionAK 03-22-2006, 01:20 PM You're lucky you don't have a bullet in you..
To be fair, if the guy was packing and was trained, that thought would have never crossed his mind (you don't draw for piddley **** like that). If he was packing and DIDN'T have training, Tribal is and does, and would have probably come out on top of the confrontation.
Sorry, fuel on the fire...

Yes... if he was trained.. but you never know man.. some people are fkn crazy.
AKSubie 03-22-2006, 02:45 PM Rednecks - Alaska is full of them by the general nature of AK. Its still pretty much untouched back woods territory, sure Anchorage is pretty civilized, but as a whole it is more on par with KY than with CA as far as population goes. Also with the oil companies there is a large percentage of Texans here (they have experience in the oil field industry) so good or bad, their values, behavior and beliefs come with them, add to AK's already mountain man appeal. WELLL..
Tribal v lownslow - Tribals recolection of events clearly states the other person was the aggressor. I dont know about you, but someone speeding up to get on my ass then follow me into a parking lot isnt there to say "hey, next time signal" and run off. They clearly were looking for something, at the least were wanting to prove how big an a-hole they were, they WERE looking for a confrontation. Also the fact there ARE crazies out there is why tribal said to back the F up. I am sorry, but if for whatever reason I see a car flying by me, and I want to "get them" I'll pick up my cell phone and call the police and tell them. The COMPLETE kicker woudl be if THAT guy had gotten pulled over for trying to catch you.
Word to the wise people listening.... If you want to be a traffic cop, APD IS hiring, go sign up. Leave the policing to the police, concerned citizen does NOT equal citizen cop.
The big "R" word ;) - Sorry, just was part of the rant, GENERALLY the majority of those REALLY into it are very proper and law abiding or at least try to pon off that persona to other people so they THINK they are "do gooders", but I realize it is a bad assumption, for I knew a girl back in HS that went to a parocial school and.... well WOW!! (not to mention a lot of politicans that do it in the name of...) So ya, just was an early morning and decided to try and piss off everyone I could.. LOL.
Mavrik 03-22-2006, 03:42 PM I agree with AKsubie
Anyone chasing YOU down is the one looking for trouble and you have the right to tell them to back off, leave etc...
I had a simular experience as some with the Expedition. Had a Yukon riding my ass until there was room to pass me, he roared out and began to move in and out of traffic. No signalling or anything through morning traffic. He really wasn't getting very far ahead of me with all his lane changing as I remained about 2-3 car lengths behind him in the lane I never changed from.
But Anchorage is far from civilized in the polite use of the word.
tribalwrx 03-22-2006, 05:41 PM ok time to chime in here, first of all lownslow i never said it was the ''cool thing'' to do , second the driver of that truck was the one who took it on himself to chase after me and act like a tard about it, then he felt he just had to get out of his truck and get angry and hit my driverside window, now do you think for a second i'm going to sit there and do nothing(would you?)and as for your comment about lucky i don't have a bullet in me , orionak would be correct, if he had any training whatsoever he would not have gone for his gun over something so stupid(yes i like to drive very fast on a open road with little to no traffic....and you don't?) and if he is like 90% of the people that carry a gun in this state that carry and have no idea how to properly operate his/her weapon, other than just pulling the trigger to make it go bang, even if it had gone that far(thank god it didn't) i'd still be typing this response to you and he would be under the ground, no i'm not saying that i'm the greatest gunfighter who lived cause i'm not but i am better than said 90% by a long shot, i also try and train as much as possible to keep an edge.on another note most people as a whole in this world are SHEEP, when they are confronted with agression most will cower and run, most cannot get out of the box.
ok rant is over for now....
