I got a CEL last night driving down to the Nuggets game. I checked it this morning and got code P04477 that states:
evaporative emission control system vent control circuit open.
Anybody delt with this in the past? Any experiences? I reset my ecu with the access port and it cleared the cel. Do I need to take it in?
TIA

Hmmm, "circuit open" seems to indicate the sensor is completely disconnected or the connection is completely broken. Have you done a fuel pump install on your car?
If not, I'd just see if it comes back. If it does, take it in and let the dealer mess with it.

Make sure your gas cap is tight. Click it 3 times.

Make sure your gas cap is tight. Click it 3 times. That might help if his DTC were P0457 but it won't cure his P0447.
Snow/ice have been known to tear off the evap vent control valve electrical connector. It's back by the charcoal cannister, which is just ahead of the bumper on the RH (passenger) side. See if you have any wires dangling back there under the car.

I cleared it, then drove to denver from dillon (about an hour) again today. It stayed off untill late tonight. It felt like the car was running rough and lacked power when it came on this second time.

I have been driving around in the snow and ice all winter. It gets pretty hairy at times. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check the wires and see if I can find anything. Is that something I can order from my dealer and get fixed?
I thought at first it might have something to do with my exhaust leaking untill I read the code. FYI I've got catless helix up/dp matched up to a ansa silverline exhaust. Access port stage 2 91oct map currently loaded.
Would the evap vent control valve being stuck open or completely torn off make it run rough? Coming back up the pass it really seemed to be missing, or chugging. Boost was normal though 4th and 5th but it just seemed to be hic uping.
Thanks again for the help. I'll let you know what I find out.

No fuel pump install. I would love to throw the bigger pump in with the pinks and then slip a bigger turbo in.......wouldnt we all. I use this as my daily driver and drive a lot. 5 miles on it when I bought it in Jan of 04 and am pushing 55k. Everything has run great untill this little mishap. Hopefully I can figure some things out in the morning.
Thanks

So I found the white connector back underneath the passanger side and one of the 2 wires was cut. I guess I need to either get that fixed or take it in. Now to find the time........

I would like to know what you found out on this? Mine came on last week with the same problem,, no power loss but yea, P0447, dealer said to replace the valve. So I guess that and check the connections
