I just installed my Hella supertones, using just the factory wires/ connectors, i plugged one in when i first started, but then i plugged them both in and neither of them work??? i plugged a stock one in, and nothing???
did i blow the fuse? i dont think i did because when i hit the horn, a clicking sound comes from the fuse...
any suggestions or ideas what may be wrong???
HELP

I dont know...
i dont think so, i used the same set up as stock...
so i dont know if that would cause a ground issue, how would you check?
could be...

The stock horns are grounded to the car by connecting to the body with a bolt. The Hellas each get their own wire to ground in addition to the wire's that you retained from the stock horns. You need to make two wires that will connect to earth at some nice big bolt.

BTW the thing you are hearing click is a relay not a fuse.

If you hear a click then the circuit to the relay is working fine.

Check your ground on the horn side of the circuit and make sure they're getting power

are the hella tones working?

hmm, do i have to post a ground from the wire, or make a seperate wire to ground all together?
I used basically the same locations for the mounting, dont know why it wouldnt work...
i will try and put some type of ground wire, and see if that is the issue...
I am pretty sure the horns work cuz when i first started to install them it worked, then almost all of a sudden they didnt work, just the clicking from relay *not the fuse,,, your are right...
any previous wiring diagrams???

My basic install was taking the stock horn wire connectors and plugged them into the Hella's... like i said it worked for a second, then i continued to work, and then i tried it again, and i just got the clicking....

You may indeed have blown the fuse. The relay is the low-current side of the circuit and when it closes it supplies power to the horns through the main fused power circuit. If the fuse blows the relay will still click but the horns won't get power. So definitely check the horn fuse. You can also use a voltmeter or test light to see if power is actually getting to the horn itself.

If you hear the relay clicking and you are sure of your grounds on both sides I would check the power to the horns. My biggest bet is that you have power and the ground to the horns switched on the relay connections.

I suppose you could also check to see if your horns just plain work by tapping the wires on the battery posts. Might want to point them the other way:cool:

When I bought my supertones, they didn't seem to work. I'd hit the horn and would just hear a click noise at the horn. There is a screw on the back of each horn which you can adjust(they're hidden behind a rubber cap). It seems like this screw adjust the distance between the contact points within the horn for it to work. It also adjust the tone too. I adjusted each horn and they work fine now. Give it a try...

well that wasnt the problem?

Wouldn't be a blown fuse. If it was, the key in ignition would not chime when door is opened and you wouldn't be able to remove the key from the ignition.
