I have a JDM STi Ver 7 engine swapped into my MY00 Impreza RS, and am looking into using a Cobb AP to tune it. I contacted Prova of Japan to purchase one, and they asked if my car was equipped with an immobilizer or not.

After looking around and finding out exactly what an immobilizer is, I'm thinking I don't have one, but I want to be sure. From what I understand, the immobilizer would be searching for the key that it is married to before allowing the car to start. Since I still use the key to my original RS, from before the swap, is it safe to assume that the ECU isn't set to look for any particular key, and therefore isn't equipped with an immobilizer?

Any help would be appreciated.
