And even if they go bad, autometer has the best customer service by far...I say go for em if your on a budget. If I had the money though, id get either omori's or greddys. markuswelby 03-26-2006, 06:39 PM I am gonna get boost and EGT gauges and the Defi ones are way out of my price range. Do people have good experience with autometer gauges? I have an Autometer boost gauge that runs 10 psi under religiously..... PARANOID56 03-26-2006, 09:59 PM i have fun autometer gauges for over 10 years in other cars. one of which has all auto meter gauges (custom dash non subaru) and they have never given me any issues. I did have one of the gauges letters flake off (sat in the sun for a year and exposed to the elements) i called them up, and they replaced it with no questions asked. Super great customer service. Shane ride5000 03-27-2006, 12:44 PM my first AM boost gauge was mechanical and didn't sit in the zero box while off. they replaced it. when the second one proved to have insufficient range, i went AM electrical boost, up to 30psi. i love it, would def. do it again in a heartbeat. i use the peak hold a lot more than i ever thought i would. greysave 03-27-2006, 12:47 PM I have automete gauges in another turbo car... They have always read boost and a/f reliably. taerron 03-27-2006, 01:16 PM my old autometer egt wasn't very responsive, but it worked Rapid_Roo 03-27-2006, 01:50 PM I have autometer volt and boost gauges. they work well. the boost gauge matches my digital blitz TT boost reading if that means anything. I have an autometer a/f meter at one point, but it was read all crazy and stuff... but that is down to trying to use the signal from the ECU as a sensor, which was a bad idea. I took it out to reduce the clutter in my car. RR :) Weakness 03-28-2006, 06:25 PM I have worked with both Autometer units and have had no problem. Those have all been mechanical, the DEFI and other electric units (with a separate brain and such) are new to me, never tried em. Jitenshakun 03-28-2006, 06:51 PM +1 for Autometer. The fact that they're the largest gauge maker has a lot to do with their pricing, not a quality difference. -J sandwi54 03-29-2006, 02:31 AM Cool thanks guys. PARANOID56 03-29-2006, 01:15 PM i will post some pics as soon as i get them. I am getting the boost and oil pressure gauges. i have used these forever, so there should be no issues with quality. Shane Kenji815 03-29-2006, 01:22 PM autometer have very good gauges. bheinz57 03-29-2006, 08:41 PM Autometer makes a great quality product. I have a set of three pro-comp ultralites in my Suby right now. Brian |
