Has anyone pulled their alternator completely apart? I've gotten the front part of the case off (the part nearest the pulley), but I haven't figured out how to disassemble the alternator any more.

Good question. I went to do this to clean/polish mine, and all I could do was get it to the point where you are at. Haynes doesn't help much neither.

sanding the intake manifold and getting the alternator apart are the only things left before i have a crap load of stuff powdercoated....grr

all i did was google "mitsubishi alternator disassembly" as this is a mitsu alternator...grr...easy as hell though w/ the instructions :)

wow...getting those wires desoldered from those posts was impossible...i even had a 240 watt soldering gun...i ended up cutting them...now theyre short and are going to be fun to put back in :)
