Has anyone pulled their alternator completely apart? I've gotten the front part of the case off (the part nearest the pulley), but I haven't figured out how to disassemble the alternator any more.

White 2.5rs 09-19-2006, 02:32 AM Asking the same question, someone has to have done this... t3hWIT 09-19-2006, 02:53 AM Good question. I went to do this to clean/polish mine, and all I could do was get it to the point where you are at. Haynes doesn't help much neither. White 2.5rs 09-19-2006, 05:45 AM i figured as much sanding the intake manifold and getting the alternator apart are the only things left before i have a crap load of stuff powdercoated....grr White 2.5rs 09-19-2006, 08:56 PM http://www.stealth316.com/2-alt-rebuild.htm derrr were both idiots :) all i did was google "mitsubishi alternator disassembly" as this is a mitsu alternator...grr...easy as hell though w/ the instructions :) White 2.5rs 09-20-2006, 12:14 AM wow...getting those wires desoldered from those posts was impossible...i even had a 240 watt soldering gun...i ended up cutting them...now theyre short and are going to be fun to put back in :) |
