Hey,
Car is a 2004 WRX with winter package and fogs:
I popped out the fog/cruise/windshield heater switches today from the dash to see how I can wire up my IC sprayer button from my new sprayer setup...
The key was not in the ignition when i popped them out. I then unplugged the harness from the backs of them to see if they had the same connectors as the IC switch. Then I plugged them back in and popped back into the dash.

When i drove the car, the normal green illumination that is normally on with the headlights is now not glowing. (yes headlights were on). When i press the fog and heater switch, the little indicator bar still light up on both, but the normal green illum is out. The functions still work from the button, they just dont light.
I took apart the heater switch and looks like the illum bulb is burned out!!
How do I fix this?
I think i blew a fuse somehow: which fuse has the illum for those switches?
where can i get replacement bulbs for those little switches?

thanks,
`Chris

so i opened each switch. all three main illum bulbs are burned out. im assuming a fuse is blown b/c i plugged in the IC switch with a good bulb and it didnt light either. grrrrr

I think power for those comes off fuse number nine in the front bulkhead fusebox.

i figured out my problem.
somehow the bulbs in the three switches blew simultaneously. hah!
i replaced the bulbs with ones from another switch i had and they work properly now. I made them all illuminate red as well to match my red HVAC/radio/keyring/clock, and no fuses were blown.
The IC spray switch has a different prong series for illum so it didnt light up when i plugged it into those other harnesses.
all is well
