Hi. In the midst of rebuilding my 2.2L stroked engine. Wanted to find out from the guru's the effect of running looser (towards the specified maximum) oil clearence and tighter (towards the specified minimum) oil clearence.

Or do I decide on bearing thickness close as possible to the specified average between the minimum and maximum oil clearences.

Going to be using Power Enterprise F1 Black Metal bearings which gives various different bearing sizes. So its down to choosing the correct bearing size at the moment. Not sure what sort of oil clearences I should be aiming for.

I read somewhere that high revving engines require a looser oil clearence. Is this true?

For your info, the oil pump will be changed to a JUN uprated variant. The rods and crank are Tomei.

Thanks.

I used the high side of the factory spec.

IMO, it's always a better idea to have too much than too little.
