Ready to rally? Go off orienteering with cars? FREE breakfast...and give rallying a try?
As mentioned last week, first time-speed-distance event of the season, sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America, is set for this Saturday, April 1st. Naw, don't worry--with a name like "The April Fooler" we're not laying "traps and tricks" on the course for you! Whether you were able to attend the Rally School last weekend (or not) you'll do fine on this beginner's course.
We'll gather at 9:30A at the Huffman Carr's coffee bar area, and the first car is set to go out at 10AM. This will be a progressive breakfast rally, with three stops along the way for dining and a fun and challenging rally between them for beginners and seasoned rallyists alike!
So that we may prepare adequate copies of the Route Instructions and the "cooks" can prepare along the route, please call the SCCA office at 243-2122 and RSVP for your team. Should it be that you don't have a dedicated team (driver and navigator) just yet, please call in your RSVP and make plans to join us--we have folks that are in need of partners and we'll pair you up at registration.
This will be the first event in our 2006 Summer Season, with the 20th Annual Mayday Mayday over the May 12-14th weekend, and the Bear Paw Festival's Sally Rally IV on Saturday, July 15th. Two other rallies are expected to fill out our schedule, yet we have not received confirmations from the Rallymasters on dates.
Thank you for your time, and we'll look forward to having you out with us during the upcoming summer rally season!
*originally posted as March 25th...it's April Fool's? I needed to see if Winslow was watchin'! Naw, just an exhausted volunteer posting details, LOL! The message was right, yet the heading coulda thrown folks off from readin. Thank you for pointin' it out. Now, Winslow...how do we get folks to give rallying a try? Are YOU doing Mayday Mayday this year? Anyone else up for the challenge, adventure and MAJOR road trip?
